It's been too cold to bring Gizzy outside, what with the snow and all. But it should be okay a bit later today. When Mom brought me my birthday presents, she also bought some cat grass for Gizzy. When she would bring him outside, he would walk all around and sniff stuff, then settle down to eat some dead grass. So Mom figured he might like the real stuff. All us cats have tried it.
Gizzy seems to be doing OK. Mom gives him his own stinky goodness every morning while she is in the rainbox and again when she gets ready for bed. He has been drinking from the faucet, eating crunchies and any snacks she hands out. When she has chicken or pork chops, he's right there asking for some.
He sleeps next to her every night, greets her at the door when she comes back from day hunting, and climbs into her lap when she sits down to watch the picture box (when she isn't making kitty quilts). He was also very interested in the little red dot.
He doesn't like to be pestered (note to self: don't surprise him & don't jump on him), but he doesn't mind if I curl up next to him. He's a Geezer, but he's a nice geezer.
Geezer Gizzy. Gizzy the Geezer. Heh.
Oh yeah, Mom's "on vacation" this week. She won't be going back to the day hunting place for something like nine or ten sleeps.

Sounds like he is getting back to his old self. We are happy to hear it.
It looks like Gizzy is doing well. Maybe it was the hairball after all and it just took him a while to recover completely after he got rid of it. I am really happy for him.
I was just wondering, Gizzy, how Izzhe? Thanks for updating us. It sounds like Gizzy is doing pretty good and still enjoying life. It was nice of your Mom to get special cat grass for Gizzy.

Yippie! We're so glad Gizzy is almost back to his regular self. We think you help keep him young.
I'm glad you have your mommy with you "on vacation" all week. Make sure you take advantage of the extra playing and petting time!
Sounds like Gizzy is doing well. Maybe he just had a case of the late winter blues.
Enjoy the extra mom time!
We are very happy to hear Gizzy is doing okay. nice that he got some grass to sniff and snuffle and nibble, and that his appetite is good.
You are a doll to be calm around him and even snuggle. I am sure he appreciates it

I'm furry glad that Gizzy is doin' better and actin' more like his usual self. He seems to really like spendin' time with your mom ... don't get to jealous, though.
Concatulations to your mom for bein' on vacation ... My mom has to go back on Monday, but she HAS been off for a whole month, so it's about time (don't tell HER I said that or I'll have to sleep on the floor or something).
Happy Easter!

Thank you very much for the Gizzy update! We are so happy to hear he is doing well. My Mom had a geezer cat from her childhood who passed last year just before she turned 19. For the last couple of years there were several times they thought she was preparing to move on, but she always pushed through and went back to her usual self... full of lots of kitty attitude. At the end she was deaf, nearly blind (they figured she could see shadows), really slow and a bit arthritic, but she still managed to put a scratch on the dog's nose whenever he approached her. Mom has been wanting to share her story on our blog, and I think we'll let her do that soon.
Well that was a bit of a digression... but the point is we are very happy to hear that Gizzy is well. And Happy Belated Birthday to you Millie! OH!! And, when we were catching up on the posts we missed while we had no internet, we were so excited to hear that you and Jasmine had become friends... we didn't realize you posted that on April 1st. Maybe it will happen. In the meantime, we are glad that she is well too!
great report! we like cat grass too, but we knock over the little pots, so the Lady filled a 4' planter box with it and put it in the living room. now we lay on it while we nibble. the poor grass keeps getting squashed flat.
