I thought Gizzy was feeling better. But he's down to 8 pounds, and he hasn't been eating. He barely nibbles at his food. He drinks some. If Mom hands out treats, he goes for them, he chews, but they sorta fall out of his mouth, and he doesn't try another one. He only wants to sleep and be left alone. He used to know exactly when dinnertime is, but lately, he hasn't been showing up.
Mom took him outside today on his harness, and he walked around and around the yard, but he didn't even try to eat any grass. He doesn't even wash his face any more after he eats. And he's kinda stinky and has dingleberries hanging from his butt.
I don't understand. Cats do four things. We eat, we wash ourselves, we play and we sleep. Gizzy only wants to sleep. I don't get it.

gizzy is acting the way yuki acted before i took her to the vet (both times). yuki is responding well to her treatment. we are hoping to get some good pictures of her and kimiko enjoying their quilts.
It sounds like Gizzy isn't feeling good again. I hope he gets to feeling better again soon. I was so hoping that the hairball was the problem and that he was just having good days and bad days the last time he didn't seem to feel well. He may snap out of it, like he did last time. If not, I wish him a safe journey, without pain.

With older kitties, the days go back and forth between good and bad sometimes. We're purring for Gizzy, and we hope he goes back to good days really soon.

Oh sweet Gizzy....we have fallen in love with you through this blog. You are such a sweet gentleman and such a lovely fellow, so kind to Millie.
You will know when it is your time to say goodbye. Let your mom hold you as much as possible. She will tell you that it is ok to go to the Bridge when you need to. Peace be with you dear Gizzy. We love you.

I am sad to hear that Gizzy is not feeling like his old self. I will remember Gizzy in my prayers. I assume that you are going to take him to the vet as soon as you can. I am hoping that he/she will be able to give you some good news about Gizzy.

Millie, have you asked your mom to as the vet about his teeth? Maybe he has imploding teeth. One of our cats had this problem. He was cranky and wasn't eating, and we found it was his teeth. We had 6 teeth removed (2 were already being absorbed in his gums) and after about a week or so, he was back to his old self.
