The Rug Sucking Monster

Gizzy was right. She brought out the Rug Sucking Monster today. I had a few clues. Can you figure them out by looking at the pictures?

Yeah, the Lady moved all kinds of stuff off the floor.
She piled it on the bed, on the worktable and outside the litterbox room.

Then the rug sucking started. I ran and hid under the bureau in the studio.

It started in the sewing room. Then it moved to the litterbox room and she even got some stinky stuff to spread on the floor in there. The rug sucking stopped, and I thought it was safe to come out, so I looked around cautiously. The stuff was back where it belonged in the sewing room. I saw the rug sucker moving so I ran to hide under the Lady's bed. Wrong! The rug sucking started up again right near where I was hiding, so I took off to find another safe place.

I found Gizzy in the cat hammock in the sewing room so I joined him. The Lady found us and closed the door to that room. I felt much better, even though I could hear the rug sucker still sucking.

"Millie," Gizzy says to me, "you don't have to be afraid of it. The rug sucking machine won't eat you. Its mouth isn't even big enough. It just makes noise."

I told him it makes the floor bounce and that scares me.

"Yeah, but it stops. There are a couple of other things you should know. Once the rug sucker is finished in one room, it won't come back."

I hadn't thought of that before. But he's right.

"Another thing that happens is that your toy basket gets full of toys after the Lady is finished sucking the rug. Have you noticed that yet?"

Do the toys come out of the rug sucker, I wanted to know.

Gizzy chuckled and licked my head and ear. "No, the Lady finds them in places where they got stuck and she puts them back in your toy basket. So when she's done, you have more toys."

I sure am glad Gizzy is my pal. I still don't like the rug sucking monster, but now that I know a few things about it, I feel a little better.

P.S. I have a new profile picture. Do you like it?

Millie,

If ya want I can come over and cover for you.
My Lady *hates* to run the rug sucker. She says that my getting upset when she uses it is a good cover for not running it. But, where does all my fur go when she's done? I try hard to get it all over.

Wow.. Millie you are so smart. Are you sure the monster can't suck me up? I think I will still stay far away from it, just in case.
