Pardon My Absence...

It has been a few, shall we say, "interesting" days for Mom lately.  She has not been feeling well, so she's been sacked out on the couch, popping pills.  Up until about 2:00 yesterday afternoon, this was the high point of her day.

These strawberries are from our front yard. It was wild strawberries all over.

About 2PM however, while Mom was outside watering her garden, I heard her scream.

And scream.

And scream.

WHAT could make her do that?

None other than Mr Karate himself, who flew across the country, all the way from the City of Angels, to be here for PlusOne's high school graduation. To say Mom was surprised is an understatement of epic proportions. He had told no one he was coming.

PlusOne was very pleased. Apparently Mr Karate was the only person he really, really, really wanted there.

Mr Karate flew in on the redeye, and left at dawn this morning. I know Mom would have liked to spend more time with him, but she is still smiling, so it is OK.

Me? I've been napping and hanging out on the porch as usual. I expect today will be a LOT quieter.

We purr your Mom feels better soon.
WE bet having Mr Karate drop in may have scared the illness out of your Mom :)
We hope so.
While the visit was short, we can see your Mom loved it!
Bet PlusOne did too.

That was wonderful of Mr Karate to travel so far to share PlusOne's graduation. And I hope you didn't hiss at him, did you Millie? Terrific that he gave your mom such a lovely surprise.

Glad those screams were for happiness. Plus he got to see your mum's new house!

Next time he has to come, stay longer and bring Mrs. Rubylocks with him.

It seems a surprise visit from Mr. karate was just what the doctor ordered to make mom feel better. Seeing him was a good reason for a bit of happy screaming. Concatulations to Plus One for graduating. He must have been thrilled that Mr. Karate was able to see him get his diploma. Too bad Mr. Karate couldn't stay a while longer, but a short visit is better than no visit at all. Hope you enjoy your quiet easy Sunday on the porch Millie.
