Gizzy's Excellent Adventure

Mom went to Petco after her day hunting yesterday. She bought Gizzy a red harness and a leash. When she got home, she put it on Gizzy right away and brought him outside. It was a very unusually warm day here yesterday - it was close to 70F/21C. They were outside for about a gazillion minutes, but she said it was only 20.
When they came in, she gave Gizzy some kind of chicken stinky goodness with gravy. He dove right in and ate a quarter of the 3 oz can.
Then he took a little break and washed his face.

Then he went back for seconds. I had some too. Mom tries to keep me away from his food so he can eat it. Tonight when I tried the stuff in his bowl, he pushed me away.
Finally, after he had eaten about one-third of the stuff in the can, and licked up all the juices, he went to his comfy chair and washed a bit again. He's still kinda dirty, but we figure he just had a banquet and he's stuffed. Maybe he'll finish his bath later. He had a nap, then went back for thirds. Before Mom went to bed, he went back for fourths. By that time Jasmine and I had finished the rest, and Mom put out some more.

The spot on his face was from some of that funny sticky food stuff in a tube. Mom had it on her finger, and Gizzy was sniffing it, but I gave him a headbutt and the stuff got all over his cheeks. Oops.

You like a man with renewed vitality! Mom Lynne maybe all he needed was a harness. He wanted to go outside. If exercise is makin his appepite come back, then he just needs to go out back for a little while! Oh this is such good news!! HAY for Gizzy.

  6. Good news!

Maybe all Gizzy needed was some exercise and fresh air.

How long until Millie and Jasmine start wanting their own harness and leash?

Well done Gizzy - you just want to keep surprising us all, don't you. The harness is much better than being held by the tail - hahaha .... and it looks so smart!

    Hi Millie,

I am so glad that Gizzy is enjoying the outdoors. And he took to the harness so well! One of our cats, Nosey, enjoys the occasional trip to the backyard, but w/o a harness. Although he's relatively young (8), he never runs all out like most cats, so he's easy to manage outside. I don't want to put ideas in your head, but I bet you'd be a holy terror to manage outside w/o a harness!

Thanks for the email about the people quilt. I'll measure and think about what might look nice in our bedroom.

  14. Dear Lynne,
The harness and leash are a great idea - glad Gizzy adjusted without a fuss. Mabe now he needs the kind of special feeding situation Mille had when she first arrived, so Millie doesn't swipe HIS food! Whoops - Puffed out tails allaround me - gotta go.
    Love ya!
