Hmmm - I think your mom has scored one here Millie. The level of water is definitely lower in the second pic. Circumstantial, I'll concede, since another pusscat might have broken into the house and sipped at the bowl, but the much more likely explanation is that you gave it a whirl!
Angel & Kirby beat us to it....evaporation. You gotta keep adding water to fountains every day. Yes, that's it-evaporation-until she catches you in the act!
