Saturday Caturday

It's a lovely day out. It's sunny, warm but not too hot, and it's dry. I love napping in my hammock near the window.  I can watch the world go by, and when I get bored, I just get another napping spot.

Mom, however, is her usual get-up-and-go self. She went out for breakfast, then did some errands.  She went to the pasta and cheese place and got some fresh pasta and lots of nice cheese (duh!).  Then she went shopping for Auntie Karate's birthday present. She came home and made herself her current favorite sandwich, a BLT with avocado and spicy mayo.  Then she did the washing machine shuffle, changed the sheets on the bed and washed the dirty dishes.

Before you think Mom is all work and no play, let me set your mind at ease. She has been reading the new biography of Julia Child, Dearie, and enjoying it muchly.  She's also been watching tennis and she went to the local quilt shop to buy fabric.

Day One of Stay-cation is pretty good so far.

  2. We hope your Mom enjoys her stay-cation and all the tennis. Our Mom is deserting us on Friday for 4 days (gasp) to go an watch the tennis for real. We think she is a terrible Mom, but she is very excited

  4. When I lived in Manchester for 7 years I went to Angela's Pasta and Cheese Shop on a weekly basis! Now when I visit make it a point to stop there.

BTW, you reminded TBT to make a BLT, something he hasn't made in years. On lightly toasted bread, right?

  8. Does your human ever take a break, Millie? Oh, I just remembered - she has the same birthday as my human, so the answer is probably no.

  9. Now Millie - your role is to show your mom how to sit quietly for long-ish periods and just relax.

    Fabric shopping is fun, though!
