I agree with the Paw Relations: thisis an opportunity for you to step up Millie and offer to press your mom's sewing for her. Perhaps she could even turn the temperature in your cat cup up a bit so you'd be really toasty when you jumped out of it to sit on her latest seams.
Could you not just lay on the fabrics and press them flat?
