Thursday Thoughts

Mom went to a wake yesterday. A lady co-worker died of cancer. The lady got sick last Turkey Day, and died on Sunday. She was younger than Mom, and had two children of her own. Mom says she was a nice lady, always smiling.

Mom says something like this is a big wake-up call to everybody to keep your "I love you's" up to date and to realize there's a lot of stuff that just isn't worth getting all upset about. Life's too short as it is.

Hear hear! Love, hugs and purrs all around!

  1. My gosh - that hardly seems fair doesn't it? Your mom is right, every day is a bonus for all of us and we should try and find some goodness in it.

  2. Absolutely Millie. I hope that you'll take the message to heart yourself, and give your Mom lots of cuddles and smootchies this week.

  3. We are so sorry to hear this news. In our house we all know the importance of living life fully each day (mom survived cancer although is still having treatment, her two best friends died of cancer, her dad died of cancer, her uncle is dying of cancer, our Dad has just been diagnosed with cancer, several of her friends currently have cancer). Cancer stinks.

  4. Every day *is* a gift, but often we take it for granted. We assume we'll come home at the end of the day, assume we have another chance to say things we should, do things we really want to, but sadly, that's not always the case.

Lots of (((hugs))) and healing Light to your mom's co-worker's family and friends at this time.

  6. So very true ~ there is ALWAYS time, no matter how busy or stressed, to say thank you or share a smile. In the end, that matters A LOT more than whatever was causing the business or the stress.

Hugs and scritches back to you!

  11. Very sad event. My friend and co-worker lost her son last year to cancer one year and one month after his diagnosis, which he received on his birthday. He was only 43. I agree that ILY's always need to be up to date and life is so short.

  13. Makes you question why do these things happen.
Having survived cancer, I know only too well, every day, every breath I take is a wonderful gift. Life is precious and way too short.

  19. Well it does look like spring is springing up by the looks of that tree. Yes, even though they haven't passed on but have been through a serious disease and come out O.K. is also a time for the "I Love Yous." Because you just never know.

  20. Also a good reminder ta leave instructions about the computer. Like how ta leave a post on the blog about it, or where all the passwords are, and who should be emailed... Even best friends don't know our secret lives.
