Wacky Wednesday

Mom says sometimes wacky things happen when you travel. This was certainly one of them. Mom and I were watching the guys splash around in the big bathtub on tv one night when all of a sudden this horrendous noise started blaring and a red light on the wall flashed over and over again.

Mom jumped up, slammed her tippy tappy lapbox closed, grabbed her cell phone, iPod, room key and purse, jammed the lapbox in its bag, checked she had her airplane boarding pass in it, grabbed me and left the room.

The noise was worse in the hallway. She walked calmly to the end of the hall and went down the stairs and outside to wait.About 10 minutes later, the fire trucks came, with their sirens blaring and their lights flashing. Everybody waited outside for over an hour while the firemen checked the building. There was no fire, but the fire alarm wouldn't stop and nobody could go back inside while it was blaring.

Finally, we were allowed back into the hotel. And if THAT wasn't weird enough, look what Monty's Mom did to me the next day:

I'm glad she had a good laugh about it.

  3. That is a pretty dress. We are glad it wasn't a real fire. Mom had that happen to her once when she was a teenager. They had just moved and weren't supposed to have pets in the room, so she and her brother had to sneak out one of the ones who came before in a cardboard shipping box. (The other ones that came before were staying with Papa's boss).

  11. Oh, Millie, You look gorgeous all dressed up. But cats don't like to wear clothes so we don't blame you for not appreciating it.

What a scare at the motel. Glad there really was no fire.

  16. Reminds mom of the time her traveling boys hockey team pulled the fire alarms in a hotel in Ottawa Canada. When boys are age 12 that kind of stuff is way too funny.
