Thank You!

You all know that Jasmine didn't like me much. But I liked her. Sure, I teased her sometimes, but that's what sisters do. She was my big sis, and she didn't take any guff from anybody. She was a Champion cricket hunter, she was regal, and she could be very stealthy and sneaky. She was the very definition of aloof. In short, she was a terrific cat.

I confess I didn't treat her as well as I should have in this blog, but you all saw through my kittenishness to the wonderful cat she really was. Once again, the thoughtful, caring and compassionate cats in the blogosphere have blown us away. Over a hundred comments, more than a dozen tributes (see the sidebar at left), and several private emails expressing their condolences have poured in, overwhelming Mom and I.

Mom brought me into this family a little over a year ago because she thought that Jasmine was sick, and would be going to the Bridge. She turned out not to be sick, and we were all stunned when it was Gizzy who went to the Bridge first. Now Jasmine has followed him, and while we know they are together, and happy, Mom cannot but think of how terribly sad (and lonely) she would be if she had not adopted me.

Mom's eyes were leaking often over the weekend, as she read the comments and the wonderful poems of condolences in the special tributes to Jasmine. I've been making sure she pets me, because I know that makes her feel better.

The picture below, of Jasmine on Mom's lap, was taken over 4 years ago, when Jasmine was about 10 years old. it's one of Mom's favorites of Jasmine. As you can see, Jasmine was as watchful and wary as ever. Mom was convinced Jasmine could read her mind.

Jasmine, we loved you!

Cats of the Blogosphere, we love you! Thank you!

  6. When the Beins takes us inna their world, to care for them and be loved by them, they can never really know which ones will decide to go over the Bridge first.

Sometimes it isnt owr decishun, sometimes it is and the Beins cant know. It is even important that they dont know someimes..

If they knew ahed alla time, it would be too hard on them, ya know?

Sometimes we hafta hide it even from each other at the end.

But we will all meet ofer the Bridge... An that's all that matters. What happens after that, we will find out then.

  7. Although I know about Jasmine lately. But I can see she is a wonderful cat~! Because I know Tuxi~! We are all good.

I am still very sorry about your loss, and continue praying for you. Right now, Millie, you just need to comfort your mommy~! That is the most important. Tell your mommy, just let her emotion release. Tell her she could nestle on you and cry,you will be the best dependence of your Mommy. And after big release, I believe Jasmine doesn't like your mommy so sorrow, she will like to wish your mommy could smile at her seeing her across the brige.

We finally will all meet at bridge, we will have sweet party then, I believe that.

Dearest Millie, Thank you for let me know about your big sister's story, and so sorry to know her so late. You know? I think Jasmine's mission on earth is finished. Her mission is being with your mommy for these years. She has done her job perfectly well, and could be the angel now. Years ago, her mission is finding your mommy and taking care of her. She made it~! She is really really wonderful~! So, don't mind about Jasmine likes you or not, she loves your mommy, always~! And that is enough:)

Millie, take care of your Mommy alright? We cat friends and our Mommy and Daddy only could sending purrs and prayers, but only you could do something~! So, we depend on you~!! You will be the wonderful counselor~!

    Kiss, Sincerely yours,

We are so sorry to hear about Jasmine. She looks like my brother Spot, only prettier. Me & Spot don't always get along too well either, but I would miss him too. Purrs & Nuzzles.

  14. My Mama's eyes leaked for Jasmine too. Mama knows how sad it is to lose a brother/sister cat from our home. Maybe later your Mama will get you a companion since Jasmie's gone to the bridge. I have 5 other cat sisters and brothers: Precious, Gabby, Hope, Peepers and Buster. Maybe I could share Buster. He gets into my face and I smack him and growl at him to show him who's the BOSS!!!! I'd never miss HIM! (GRRRR!!)

  15. oh Millie, we knowed that you loved Jasmine. Sometimes the older kitties just don't know how to deal wif us little balls of energy. Trixie was like that for a while wif each of us. Norton was more like Gizzy, more accepting.

You're doing the right thing by letting mom pet you lots.

Mom Lynn, our mom knows just how you feel wif 2 kitties running off to the bridge within a few months of each other. it's hard, but it will get better.

    we loves you bof!
