I am doing what any normal, intelligent Cat would do on a perfect summer Sunday (or any other day, come to that) which is, not much.

Mom, however, went outside and started cutting leaves off her Basil plants.

When her giant colander was completely full...

she brought them inside, put them in the food destruction gizmo, add some other junk, and then put it in jars.

She says it's called
Pesto. Her friends call it "green gold" and practically faint if she gives them a jar of the stuff.
Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a cat?
Oh our Mom LOVES pesto. Any chance of getting your recipe? With a name like "green gold" it must be exceptional. Or is it a Millie-family secret?
ReplyDeleteWe want catnip pesto!

Basil - pah! Nip - yes! Have an easy Sunday, pretty Millie.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a crop of basil, Millie. We have only very recently sown some seeds for lemon basil, so we are a way off behind your yield. My Mom would also be interested in your Mom's Pesto recipe.
ReplyDeleteWHY? Why does she do that to perfectly fabulous basil leaves? ~Fiona Bun
ReplyDeleteBleagh! I would much prefer nice, pink salmon pesto. I don't get humans at all - especially since mine is practically drooling over your human's green stuff!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for you doing "not much", I think you're underselling yourself (again) Millie. It looks to me as though you're getting stuck into a seriously thorough yoga and laundry session there. With so many furs, your cleaning duties must be pretty constant.

ReplyDeleteLove your Basil, My mom used to plant that too but end up dead..She is pretty useless !
Have a great day Millie

The Human is drooling now, but me? Eh, whatever. It looks awful. No hams or chick-hen or nuffing. Pfft.
ReplyDeleteWE and our Mom are right there with you, Millie! You Mom can have all she wants!
