It's not pretty. She's 17 years old and probably hasn't long until the Rainbow Bridge. We just recently lost Spike to the Rainbow Bridge because of Diabetes. :-( Mommy has a history of breast cancer AND diabetes on both sides of her family, so the people-doctor says she HAS to start getting mammograms THIS year!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32254415.post-24570111574829798682007-10-24T11:03:00.000-04:002007-10-24T11:03:00.000-04:00We just wanted to add that women under 40 have to ...We just wanted to add that women under 40 have to do monthly self exams and have their yearly physicals. Last year my mommie's doctor found a lump in her breast that wasn't there previously, and mommie's not even thirty! Mommie was furry lucky - MRIs and mammograms confirmed it was fibrous tissue. But, the doctor says lots of women think the fibrous lumps are no big deal. However, depending on the type of tissue, they can become cancer later on, and the women don't even know it's a big deal until it's too late. Mommie had to make some lifestyle changes so that the lumps would get smaller and maybe even go away. She keeps a close eye on how her bras fit and any pain or tenderness unrelated to her monthly cycle. All women with dense breast tissue or fibrous/calcified lumps should. And, if you have a family history of any cancers related to female hormones be extra careful! More than one contributing factor means more caution should be taken!<BR/>We’re very glad she’s okay, ‘cause we like having her around for chin skritches and treats and stuff. And now that her boobies are better, Miles can go boob-walking again on Saturday mornings!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32254415.post-32493293595393089452007-10-23T23:39:00.000-04:002007-10-23T23:39:00.000-04:00Great post Millie!
