Formerly Feral Friday

Sometimes I have to resort to drastic measures to get Mom's attention. Last night she came home from day hunting almost two hours LATE.  She had been shopping. She bought shoes and pants and a red leather jacket.

Then she stayed up late watching my pals, the guys named Pat, wallop the Fins. And she channel surfed to watch Project Runway at the same time. I was practically ignored.

So this morning I let Mom know how I felt by taking a bath on the dining room table. A kitty [me] can get away with this if it was a feral. Otherwise I suppose it shows bad manners.

And this is about as close as I am going to get, displaying my 'tocks in Tocktober.

Happy Friday, pals!

Truthful Thursday

Mom got her hair cut. She cut about 3" (7.62 cm) off. That's a lot (for me, anyway). Mom wanted it even shorter.  She thinks it is funny that it is so curly on the back. The whole time she was growing up her hair was very straight. When she got to be 40, it started getting curly.

Go figure.

Me? I'm still napping in the tent, and Megan, I DO MOVE!

Tuxie Tuesday

While I was doing this on Saturday,

Mom was on the roof of our house. She sealed the skylights and made sure the vents were sealed up too. She cleared the leaves out of the gutters and added some silicone to keep the gutter stuck to the house. She is hoping to prevent this:

The giant icicles hanging from the gutter outside.  It would help if the winter isn't as cold and we don't get as much snow.

We are hoping.

Millie Monday

Mom walks into the kitchen and sees me sitting here, meowing at the cabinets. Today she opened them so I could look inside. I think something is in there, but Mom can't see. She bought some stuff to try to get critters to go away, but I still meow at the cupboards.

Mom knows I did this last year, but she thought it was because I could smell the woofie who lived in this house before we did.

We shall see.

Easy Like Sunday

Yup, this is what I am doing today. Napping in my tent.

And it's what I was doing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Mom was sewing, and I was napping in the tent.

So now you're all caught up with what I was doing last week.

Tuxie's Tent Tuesday

Mom set up my tent in the living room.  I guess she thought I might want a cozy place to nap.

I checked it out quite thoroughly.

I sniffed all around.

Then I walked away. I could give it a much better inspection when nobody was watching me. Mom hasn't seen me near it since.

Heh.

Until she got up at oh-dark-middle-of-the-night and wondered where I was napping.

In the tent.

Bast! I hate when she catches me like that!

Oh well. The tent is a great spot and -maybe- she'll get a picture of me in the tent so you can see.

Or not.

Millie Monday

Mom's working on sewing the binding on this quilt. She put it on the red chair.

Naturally, I thought it made a great place to nap.

Because, you know, quilt + chair = tent!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

We had a freeze last night. I spend a lot of the night on Mom's bed. What part of the night I didn't spend on Mom's bed, I spend UNDER one of her quilts.

I'm not saying which one.

Friendly Friday

One of Mom's fellow day-hunters will be implementing the M-word, and Mom offered to give her some of the giant plastic bins left over from our move last year. Mom didn't need them and was more than happy to give them to somebody who would use them.

Mom was very touched when this thank-you card and gift was left on her desk a few days later.

Isn't is CUTE? Isn't it ADORABLE! It almost looks like ME!

It is a holder for Mom's iPhone. Mom LOVES it and thinks it is very cool.

Truthful Thursday

The true thing is that autumn is very beautiful here in New Hampster. We are at peak leaf-peeping season, as I have already told you. The best, and rarest thing to see is a tree where the leaves turn red. I don't mean brick red, I mean RED red. The color of the Coca-cola red.  It doesn't happen every year, and only some Maple trees turn red, but we are surrounded by them here at my house.

It's fun to watch then turn red.  Mom says the best thing to do is to remember which trees turn red, and watch them change every day.  I'll show more red trees as they change. Then they will lose their leaves and we will have to wait another year to see them.  So I try to enjoy the view every day.

Tuxie Tuesday

You would never believe what I saw when I looked out the window yesterday.

Wild turkeys.

They walked right through our yard, then between our house and the neighbor's, and right up the street.

Holy carp, are they big!

Leaf Peeping

It's the Peak weekend for leaf-peeping here in New Hampster. That means everybody and their brother from all over drive to the mountains to take a look. This is interstate 93 North, and Mom says it was stop-and-go traffic from one end of the state to the other.

Why was Mom out there? She was on her way to her favorite quilting store. She normally would take "the back way" but she had to go to her day-hunting gig to do a small task first. She had forgotten which weekend it was until she was in the middle of it.

This red tree is right outside our living room window, so we can see it every day.

Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a cat?

Sunny Saturday

Mom just got this quilt back from being quilted. It looked great before, and it's even better now. I am performing my usual QA check.

It's sunny and lovely out today, but since it's only 53F, Mom won't open the door to the front porch. She says those days are mostly over.

So I will keep napping on the quilt.

 Or not.

Millie Monday

Mom has been busy sewing. When she gets really busy, she forgets to help me blog. I'm sorry about that.

I'm fine, but I am a little annoyed. I liked it when she was on stay-cation and I got lots of scritches. Now that she is back to day-hunting, I don't get so many.

I'm working on that. Can you tell?

What A Difference A Year Makes

Wow.

A year ago this was the dining room.

Nothing on the walls, nothing in the fridge, everything in boxes.

The new house was empty (almost) and waiting.

yup, it was empty all right. But not for long.

Holy Bast, am I glad THAT'S done.
