Washing Wednesday

Although it is already New Year's in New Zealand where my best bud Poppy Q lives, we have to wait several hours for it to get here. So I am getting ready.

The heating monster decided to act up the day before yesterday so the heating monster v-e-t came over and did some stuff. But it stopped yesterday after Mom left to go day hunting, so when Mom got home it was 57F inside the house, which is kinda chilly. The heating monster v-e-t came back and replaced some parts and it has been working much better. i hope it keeps working. I know I have a heated cat cup, but sometimes I just don't want to get in it. And Mom doesn't really like walking around the house with her winter coat on.

Happy New Year!

First Snow

It snowed overnight. It is supposed to turn to freezing rain and then to all rain later today. Driving will be messy. Mom has some extra vacation time so she took today off. She is making vegetable stock (yech) and is also cooking some garbanzo beans (double yech).

I shall nap in my kitty condo in the studio and oversee pretty much everything.

Christmas Wrap Up

This is what it looked like Christmas morning here in New Hampster. No snow or rain anywhere.

As you can see, it was 44F in the morning, while Mom was making this:

Yup, Mom made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. It was very good and everybody loved it. They also had garlic bread and Caesar salad. There was cake for dessert. Everybody, including me, had a great time.

By the time dinner was over, it was 77F inside the house, 55F out and Mom opened the door to the front porch to cool the house down.

Guess who went out there?

Merry Christmas

Mom and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

I'm waiting for the big guy in the red suit...

In the meantime, you should get a cup of whatever you like to drink, and read this post from way back in 2006 about Mom and a little bit of Christmas fun.

Tuxie Tuesday

Yes, I like to lie on the table next to Mom when she works on the computer. It's where I get some of the best scritches.

Millie Monday

I love my tent. It's where I spend most of the daytime. Can you believe the sun shines right in for most of the day? So it's toasty warm.

Only a few more days until Christymas. Mom's got all her preparations done. Everything is wrapped or mailed. Now we are just enjoying the days until the Big One. The other thing Mom likes is that the days will get longer. Woo hoo!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Yup, it doesn't get any easier (or sweeter) than this. Napping at the very top of my kitty condo, in the sun.

Fantastic Famous Feline Friday

You know you are a truly famous cat when you get mail addressed like this.  My name, not Mom's, on the envelope, the mailing address in a tiny corner (that Mom is covering for, well, security), and the guy in the bloo shorts knew just where to deliver it. It came all the way from Sydney Australia.

O happy day!

Millie Monday

Mom has finally figured out that when I say "Meow" I want scritches. Recently she has learned a new trick. When she is sitting on the couch and there isn't any room for me an I tap her arm gently with my paw, she scootches over to make room.

I won't make any snarky comments about how long it has taken her to learn this new trick, but hey, at least she's learning.

A Millie Calendar!

Mom went to this place... Vistaprint, and she made a calendar for 2016 full of pictures of ME!!! Isn't that PAWESOME!!! Here are just a few of the photos she used in the calendar.

I am so furry excited to see it. It will be here before Christymas.  Mom says if you go visit you should use promo code CALENDAR to get 50% off.  What a very cool Christymas present for me.

Thanks Mom!

Presents. Mom Gets Presents

Mom came home from day hunting yesterday with not one, not two, but THREE presents for herself.

Mom got a calendar from her friend Miss Julie. It has pictures of the quilts Julie made in 2015.

Julie added my Gotcha Day!!!  Isn't that awesome?

Julie's husband Larry makes beautiful turned wood objects, and he made Mom this awesome bowl. (Mom is a bowl freak).

This is the present Mom brought home for herself. As you can see, she was lying. It DOES fit under the Christymas tree.

Of course she had to set it up.

Wishing Wednesday

Mom bought herself a Christymas present and it's coming today. She says Mr Brown will bring it to her day hunting place.  She says it won't fit under the Christymas tree and she won't wait until Christymas to open it up.

I'm not sure that's quite fair, but I guess that's OK with me.

I mean, as long as I get my stinky goodness, my crunchies, a nice warm place to nap and live, fresh water, all the treats I can eat, real live fresh dead beef when Mom has some, and scritches, I'm good.

Really.

Tuxie Tuesday

Mom got home from her day-hunting gig last night and fed me and put her dinner in the hot-as-hell box. Then she cleaned one of the human litterbox rooms.  After dinner she had the audacity to drag the rug sucking monster around the dining room and the living room. This made me run away from my cozy tent and go nap UTB.

Then she did the dishes and ran the dishbox.

After that she went to bed. It was an extremely boring night in New Hampster.

Millie Monday

Mom's got all the Holiday decorations up, and now she's cleaning. She has been working in the office, where she spent most of the day yesterday pushing paper around.

Yup, that's all she did. Some paper went through the shredder, some got sorted, stacked and put in the file drawers, and some papers as well as a lot of catalogs and junk mail went into a box for the recycling guys.

She moved the little TV back in there, and it made a big difference, having something to make sure she stayed in there working. She also took some "beauty shots" of one of her quilts on Saturday, so that made her happy.

Anyway, I've been contributing by taking my bath right on the dining room table.

Heh

Saturday Caturday

The tree is decorated.

Time for a nap.

Finally Friday

Mom has been putting out more Christymas decorations... I like the bird in the lamp.

The Christymas tree is ready for decorating. Mom says we will do that later today.

I'm furry excited about that.

Thursday Thing

Lookit! Mom hung my Christymas stocking!!!

It's still empty, but I am sure come Christymas morning it will be filled with 'Nip and treats. Mom says we will put the tree up this weekend.  I can't wait.

Getting Ready for Christymas...

As you can see Mom switched the table quilt from the Turkey Day one to the Christymas one. You can see our Santa, and this year's Amaryllis plant. That box over at the other end of the table contains some Christymas presents for the family that Mom had specially made. More on that later. Lots later, because Mom doesn't want to spoil the surprise.

What's on the computer? Something really special...

It's this year's Jacquie Lawson advent calendar. You can get more information here. Mom loves these, and has been getting them every year for a while now. This year she gave them to all her day hunting pals. Every day there is a surprise and something to do. Mom and I already decorated the big tree and made snowflakes.

Our tree isn't up yet, but Mom says it's coming.

Right now it's in the bathtub. Yeah, I don't get it either, but hey, I'm only a cat.  How are you getting ready for Christymas?

It's Coming!

Christymas is coming! Mom has been putting out some Christymas things. This is the new snow globe she brought home the other day.

along with this silver stick wreath. Mom will probably add a bow to it once she finds unpacks the ribbon.
