Easy Like Sunday Morning

I like napping on the table, too.

Hey Mom, Christymas is coming? When are we gonna start decorating?

Not until December first, Millie.

Okay, Mom. I can take eleventy twelve naps while I wait.

Turkey Day WrapUp

Mom got through the day very well with all her preparation. We saw REAL wild turkeys outside in the neighbor's yard.

While the fam waited for the food to cook, I napped in my kitty condo all day long. Mom moved my tent and my foods, but it didn't matter. I stayed in the kitty condo until everybody went home.

The foods were very good, but I don't like turkey, so it was wasted on me.

Mr Big and PlusOne don't eat turkey, so Mom cooked them Chick-hen. And Plus One is very fussy about his mashed potatoes, so Mom made him a batch without green herbie things in it. She says next year he's gonna have to man up and just eat the stuff.

Everybody brought their own plastic containers to take the leftovers away, and that made Mom feel good. She's not a big fan of leftovers.

I got what I wanted (BEEF) and I was happy. Mom went to bed very tired.

On Friday it was very warm (60F and sunny) for the last weekend in November. Mom cleaned up the last of the turkey day dishes (mostly the glasses and serving stuff) and then put the table back to normal. She went outside and blew some leaves around and filled five bags full of leaves and junk, then she went food hunting. She's been sacked out on the couch ever since.

Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a cat?

Tuxie Tuesday

Mom is continuing to get ready for Turkey Day. Last night she did a bit of puttering around the house, and then she sat down at the tippy tappy lapbox and made a plan.

and this is just the first page!

I think the best part about Turkey Day is that Mom will be home with me for three whole days afterwards!  And that after Turkey Day comes Christymas!!

Lead Up to Turkey Day

Mom has been food hunting. She brought home bags of potatoes, carrots, oranges, parsnips, sweet potatoes, apples and lemons.

She went to three different food stores. She bought wine, cheese, crackers and homemade sausage at one store.

She bought fresh horseradish, fresh herbs and two kinds of small onions at another store. She went to the liquor store. She went to the home stuff store for tiny glasses.

Mom has also been washing stuff.  She took all the serving dishes out, and put them all through a trip in the dishwasher.

The glasses also made a trip through the dishwasher.  (So did the quilt on the table, too, even though I had worked so hard to cover it with my furs.)

The serving utensils have been located, and washed and set aside.

The big pots (one for potatoes on the left, the one for the big bird is on the right) have come out of the shed, and been washed and are ready to go.

Stock (for gravy) has been made.

Homemade bread has been baked.

Recipes have been printed.

The buffet layout has been determined.

I have been very busy snoopervising. It's a tough job, but I've been keeping up.

I do need an occasional nap to keep up my strength.

Formerly Feral Friday

Sometimes I have to do all kinds of things to get Mom's attention. Taking a bath on the dining room table is one of them. She's got turkey on the brain, and a whole long list of things to do before the big day next week. We're having eight beans come visit, and naturally Mom is pulling out all the stops.

Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a cat?

Two Cat Tuesday

These are my fur-cousins, Obi-wan (the Ginger boy in front) and Yoda (the tabby washing his 'tocks) on the quilt Mom just sent to Mr Karate and Rubylocks. Mom made the yellow quilt too, way back in 2009.

Fanatic Friday

Mom drove up to her favorite quilt shop last night and had her Chicken quilt appraised. It turns out it's worth more than four and a half times what my bionic leg is. Crazy.

Mom brought home this fabric, of paint-by-numbers horsies. SHE thinks it's the cat's meow.

Somebody is a fanatic, and it sure isn't ME!

Wordless Wednesday

Mom took this photo with her new iPhone6s.

Tuxie Tuesday

Mom has been having trouble with her gmail account on her new iphone. She doesn't get her mail as easily as she used to and it doesn't seem to like sending photos. It works better when Mom tries it on the ipad, but Mom says it is a PITA.

At any rate, I am fine. It is colder out, and the leaves have fallen from the trees, so they are nekkid. Mom filled eleven big lawn and leaf bags full of leaves on Saturday and she still has to blow them out of the front yard. Her shoulder and arm are a bit sore from lugging the big leaf blower around.  So when she got home from day hunting yesterday, she sat down and read a book.  The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry.

Mom said it was delightful.

Saturday Caturday

The tent is as good a place for a baff as any other place.

Mom will be blowing leaves, and working to put her garden to bed today.

Foggy Friday

It has been unusually warm here the last few days. There is heavy fog here this morning, and Mom will have to be extra careful on the drive to her day-hunting gig.

Mom says there is a very famous poem about fog and cats, by Carl Sandburg:

The fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

I am like the fog.

Thursday Testing

I've been very busy the last couple of days performing Quality Assurance Tests on Mom's quilts.  This one passes with flying colors. Which is a good thing,  because it has lots of BRIGHT colors and it will soon be FLYING across the US of A to give comfort to a young woman who has been fighting Cancer.

Cancer sucks. I wanna beat cancer. For everybuddy.

Yes, I'm in my tent.  Where else did you think I would be?

Easy Like Sunday

When Mom eats at the dining room table,

I always try to get some scritches,

Mom is always generous.

Ohh... that feels SO good!
