Terrific Tuesday

Mom got home last night and we both had dinner. Then she gathered up some stuff and went to our new house.

While she was there she unpacked the very big box that was left by Mr Brown. It took her a while, but when she was finished she had put together my "better than a hammock" substitute.

She did it. Mom succeeded at amazing me.

And just where did Mom put this big kitty condo of wonderfulness?

"X" marks the spot. Wow! A front row seat to my own private bird, skwirrl, chipmunk, and vishus wild turkey TV.

Two more days.

I think.

I'm not very good at counting.

Before and After

Lookit the basement before. (this was taken in March of 2013)

This photo was taken yesterday.

If that wasn't amazing, this REALLY is...

This is how many more days until the M-word is implemented.

It can't be that bad, can it?

Sunday Sneak Peek

The new house is empty (except for some stuff Mom brought over). Here are some sneak peeks.

In New Hampster, friends come in the side door, not the front door. This is the side door entrance. The washing and drying monsters are here. Yes, those are bunnies on the wallpaper. Mom likes them so they will stay. Mom brought in the red rug.

This is the guest human litterbox room. Mom doesn't like the wallpaper or the vanity but says she can change them later. Like the hallway, this room has a skylight, and Mom likes that a lot. Mom has already made sure it has all the stuff anybean needs.

This will be Mom's sewing studio. As you can see there are lots of places for a kitty to watch BirdTV.

LOOKIT THIS! My own private BirdTV channel. Oh my Bast! I can't wait. Mom says there are sqwirrls too.

Go Go Goodbye Couch

This is our little couch. Mom thinks it's was ugly and the cushions are flat, so she sinks into it whenever she sits on it.

Mom hates it.

I like it because I can scratch it.

Mom says it is NOT going to the new house. Today some of her day hunting pals are coming to take it to the dump.

A lot of stuff is go-go-going. The washing monster and the drying monster are both go-go-going. (Actually the monsters are going to somebody who can use them.)  Mom says there's a lot of other so-called junk that's going to the dump too. (Like that rug!)

I am snoopervising everything.  A week from today, we will be in our new house, and I will FINALLY get to see what will replace my window cat hammock.

Formerly Feral Friday

For all of you worried about how I am going to "handle" the M-word next week, let me assure you I will come through with flying colors. I have been M-word-ed from one home to another three times already. The only thing different this time is that all my Human's stuff is coming along this time.

Rest assured kitties, that I am at the very tippy-top of Mom's list. I am what she is most concerned about. My needs will be taken care of First. My things will be set up First. Mom has been telling her quilting buddies that she will set up her sewing room first, and she will. AFTER she sets up my stuff.  Her plan is to set up the Office first.
See the three windows on the front of the house? Those are the office. My kitty condo will be right in front of those windows. This side of the house gets the sun all day so it will be very cozy.

Mom and I are both furry excited.

Thursday Truth

Lots of you kitties told me to have some fun climbing on top of the big stacks of boxes Mom has been packing.

So I did.
I like climbing up high. It's fun.

Mom is packing up the last few things that we won't be using. She is confident she will be ready come moving day, which is next week. She has called a rug cleaning guy to clean the rugs at the new place and now knows when the new place will be totally empty.  She had a minor meltdown yesterday when it appeared things might not be going according to plan, but recovered her composure when things got back on track.

I don't know what any of that means except that I'm tired of listening to the screech of the tape dispenser.

Mom says my package is between Catifornia and here and will arrive on Monday, but that I won't get to see it until we get to the new place. (I did some peeking of my own, and oh my Bast! The box weighs as much as five Millies! If it's a hammock, it's a humdinger.)

These Aren't the Droids You're Looking For...

Remember in the movie "Star Wars" Obi-wan Kenobi told the storm troopers "These aren't the droids you're looking for," to make them think they were looking at something else?  Well, lookit this.

Mom says that I am, on no account, to pay attention to the suitcase on the bed.

Hellllll-OH---OH! I'm a CAT, remember? Cat = Curious.

Yeah, sure. This from the lady who told my my cat hammock problem was "teeny weeny and not worth worrying about."

I'm a CAT, not a DOG, for Heaven's sake. I may have been born AT night, but I wasn't born LAST night.

Mom put some clothes in the suitcase. Not her working clothes, but her weekend clothes. She put extra undies and socks in there, and a nightgown, and her hat and her jewelry.

She emptied out her bureau and put all the stuff in a big box. She added the shoes she hardly ever wears, her purses and her scarves. Then she taped the big box shut and added it to the stack in the other room. Those boxes are popping up everywhere, and it's getting kinda crowded in here.

She said my very own big box is coming real soon, but it won't come here, it will be delivered to the "new" house. (Which isn't new, by the way. It's old. It's older than dirt. It's like 30 years old.) She said it is coming all the way from Catifornia (which is where Mr Karate & Rubylocks live) and it will get "here" (actually "there") in a week. She says Mr Brown is bringing it for me and I will forget all about my cat hammock when I see it.

Yeah right. Sounds like another diversion to me.

I think my Mom is losing it. She actually said she thought she could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Kitties, I, being a Cat, am an Expert at digging. And I can tell you definitively there is NO tunnel anywhere around here, let alone a light at the end of one.

sigh. I think I need a nap.

I Am Not Amused.

Mom said we have a small problem.

Mom says it's just a little, teeny tiny thing and that I shouldn't worry about it. (That alone tells me I am being lied to.)

Mom never lies to me. (Well except when she jams me in the PTU and tells me it's going to be OK. And actually, it does turn out OK in the end, so I guess...)

Mom says there is no place to put my cat hammock in the new house.

REALLY? I mean, really? There's a room that has windows along one whole wall. What does she mean there's no place to put my cat hammock?

This is not good.

Easy Like Sunday

Mom was surprised to see me lying on the very top of my kitty condo.

I like to do the unexpected.

Never Say Never

Yeah, I know, I don't usually get into boxes, but this one had some crumpled paper in it. I didn't stay long, and I jumped out when Mom got too close.

Yer can try fer yerself.  ARRRR!

    My pirate name is:

    Dread Pirate  Rackham

Like the famous Dread Pirate Roberts, you have a keen head for how to make a profit. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate.    Arr!

Truther Thursday

Oh my Bast! The wall of boxes gets bigger every day.  This is what it looked like about ten days ago.

and this is what the same corner looks like today.

Here is the other side...

Do not bother trying to find me in these photos. I am very well hidden. (Heh. Mom doesn't know it, but I am under one of the new chairs in the living room.)

Mom had a long fevver duster on a stick that was resting on the top of a box. I was playing with it, and now it has fallen behind the stack where Mom can't reach it. Oh well. (Double Heh.)

I am practicing being a Pirate, climbing on the stack of boxes, protecting my turf. Pirate Day is tomorrow.  Arrrr!

Ayla, Iza and Marley, "TOL" means "Top Of Load." It's for extra fragile stuff that has to be on the top of any stack.

Wacky Wednesday

The studio is filled with boxes. They are stacked in front of the desk and the bookcase and the bureau. Mom can't get back there.
But I can!

Tuxie Tuesday

I really like this spinning red chair. I can climb up and jump onto my kitty condo, and I can cuddle up next to Mom if she scootches over.

Millie Monday

I am enjoying my nap.

on the kitty bed MomBean made for me a very long time ago. It remains one of my all time favorite napping spots.

Mom's new bed? Yeah, that's nice too.

(It was pretty funny. Mom was washing the dinner dishes, and she was putting a big pot away, and realized she had taken down the hook she usually hangs it on!!  Ha ha.)

Sunday, September 14, 2014

So you all know that Mom was getting a new bed delivered yesterday. She was furry excited. I  thought it was going to be a good day, but all of a sudden it got very, Very, VERY bad.

I was sitting next to Mom and getting scritches when all of a sudden she picked me up and put me in the cage for no good reason.

then she left me there. I was stuck in the cage all day while Mom waited for the sleepy guys.

Four very long hours later the guys came and took the old bed away.

Mom dragged the rug sucking monster around.

The guys put the new bed in the hallway. One of them put the new bed frame together.

And then presto, the new bed was in place. The sleepy guys left and Mom -finally- let me out of the cage.
Mom put the sheets and blankets and quilts on the bed. Hmm. Maybe she needs to get a bigger quilt because this one doesn't cover the new mattress.

Mom is furry excited to sleep on the new bed. Me, not so much. The new bed has a Tempur, and I am not going to sleep on an angry bed.

The Last Time

Tonight is the last time Mom and I will sleep on this bed.
Tomorrow the sleepy guys will be bringing a new one, and Mom is furry excited.

Mom has cleared out the hallway.

and moved stuff around so the guys will have room to man-oo-ver the new bed into the bedroom.

and she's... WAIT A MINUTE...

WHAT'S THAT DOING IN THERE??  What does the cage have anything to do with getting a new bed?

Freaky Friday

Dear Megan, I most certainly do NOT nap on the same chair all day long. I generally rotate my napping spots during the day, but Mom doesn't always get photos.

The house is looking kinda empty. Every night after dinner, Mom puts stuff in boxes. As you can see she has been packing up kitchen stuff. I'm glad that Mom has not packed any of my napping spots. In fact, I heard her talking to our M-word coordinator that my kitty condo has to be the LAST thing on the truck so it can be the FIRST thing set in place at our house.

Now THAT's cool.
