Millie Monday

I know I look a little snarky, but really I'm fine. I just don't like being woken up from a good nap.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

I am taking it easy today.

My Special Day!

Today is a special day for me. Eight years ago today (gosh, I can't believe it was that long ago) was the worst day of my life, and it was almost the LAST day of my life.  I got hit by a car, and was left for dead in the middle of a busy street. I couldn't move, and I was terrified as cars zoomed by.

It turned out to be the BEST day of my life (until then) because I was rescued by Malcolm.  You can read the story here, and see the very scary pictures of my broken leg.  I needed expensive surgery and cat lovers all over the world helped Malcolm raise the thousand green papers needed to fix me up.

My leg did get fixed and I can run and jump any time I want. Later I moved to New Hampster to my furrever home with my Mom and my big brother Gizzy and sister Jasmine. They went to the Bridge the following year, but they taught me how to be "social."

Now I live the life of a Top Cat with my Mom, who loves me very much. I have lots of furriends all over the world and I have had many excellent adventures.

I'm a very lucky cat, and I have lots of folks to thank for it. If you own part of my bionic leg, I want to thank you from the very bottom of my happy heart.

Thinking Thursday

OK, I will come clean. I haven't been posing much lately. I've been camped out in very cool places and Mom hasn't been getting many photos. This one was taken about three weeks ago before Mom rearranged all her quilts on the walls around here.

I'm fine, and so's Mom.

Wordy Wednesday

Mom's been busy this week. The weather has been very nice. Sunny warm days; no humidity, no rain. Nice sleeping weather, in the mid 60's F (18C). Mom opens the windows wide and puts a couple of quilts on the bed. Usually I sleep next to her for a while and I get some nice scritches before she falls asleep.

This is me with one of my favorite quilts at the MFA show in Beantown. They wouldn't let me leave any of my furs on it.

Drat.

Millie Monday

Mom finished her Chicken quilt yesterday. She spent practically all weekend sewing the binding. She was so involved she "forgot" to help me blog.

As you can see I was a little bit annoyed. Still, the Tennis starts at Wimbledon today, and that means Mom will be watching, and I will be able to get lots of scritches.

And it means there's another quilt to cover with my furs!

Finally Friday

Mom's had a heck of a week at work and is happy it's Friday. Me too!

Truthful Thursday

I got along very well with Mom's friend Julie. She didn't pester me, and when I felt comfortable with her I ate treats out of her hand. I even head butted her once or twice.

Millie Nappin'

Julie has gone back to her house, and I can nap in peace. The hots are here for a couple of days, so I'm taking it easy.

What do you think of my new blog header? Ann from Zoolatry made it for me. Isn't it glamorous?
Thank you so much Ann!

Tuxie Tuesday

If it's in the laundry basket, it's fair game for my furs.

Happy Birthday MomBean!

Saturday with The Ladies

I accompanied the Ladies (Mom and Julie) to the quilt shop yesterday and was subjected to all kinds of abuse.
Here I am posing with some green stuff.
 This is more like it!
Here, apparently, I am a Bag Cat.
I am not a lush, but after all that I really did deserve a drink.

Here I had to hold down a quilt while Mom and Julie took pictures.

It was a busy day, but I was glad to be a part of it all. Mom and Julie have more adventures planned for today.

A Very Good Day

Oh my Bast, did I have a good day with Mom and Julie yesterday. We went to a museum and saw the most beautiful quilts I have ever seen. (And that's saying something.) The day ended with BEEF, so it was perfect, but oh boy, I gotta go. We have more to do today.

smoochies!

Freaky Friday

Mom and I spent a lot of time waiting for her friend Julie yesterday. Julie's flight was delayed over two hours. Mom and I made a special trip to get some Evil Little Chocolates for her to make up for it.

They have a whirlwind list of activities planned for the weekend, and I'll be along for most of it. I am very excited.

Too Much Thursday

Mom's been running around like a lunatic doing all kinds of silly stuff. Her friend Julie is coming to visit, so she's been dragging the rug-sucking monster around.  It's all too much for me, so I'm hiding out.

Julie said she wants my furs on her new quilt (it's the blue one on the bed). I've done my bit. I sat on it, and even took a nap on it. Now I'm under the wing chair. I'll come out when I'm ready.

Not Wordless Wednesday

Hey, Mom didn't make this quilt.
But there's one of her asterisks. And I see one of her butterflies.

I see some of her letters, and I see some of her fabrics. I have only one word for this quilt.

MINE!

Glad I Am a Cat

Mom and I went to Mim-may and Pip-pay's house last night to watch the big race and have dinner.
I am glad I do not have to run for a living.

Um, I don't even know where to start with this. Fortunately, Mom knew just what to do with it.

SHE took it apart and ate it. I got my usual stinky goodness.

Of course I get to nap on any quilt I want. Someday Mom will realize I do not like the flashy box.

Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a cat?

Sunny Saturday

It's sunny, it's warm. The windows are open. I'm napping on Mom's bed on one of my favorite quilts.

It's a perfect day.  Nocat could ask for more.

Update... well there is one thing.  Monty Q, honey, would you like to come over and nap beside me?

Friday Fence

The fence went up yesterday.  The old fence wasn't very tall, so Mom could look over it.

Not anymore.

On the plus side, however, we get more privacy, and if Mom ever wants to take pictures of her quilts, the fence is a good place to do it.

Thursday Truth

Sometimes when Mom gets the flashy box out, I look in the other direction.

It's true.

Mom says I am a Prima Donna.  I'm going to take that as a compliment.

Fence Day?

I think today is fence day.

This pile of fencing was in the lot when Mom got home yesterday.

I may or may not watch.

Tuxie Tuesday

Mom's Chicken quilt came back from being quilted in Tennessee yesterday. I got right to work with my Quality Assurance checks.  So far it passes for comfort, kindness and love. It needs more fur, though, so I'm not ready to sign off on it just yet.

Millie Monday

Wowza. Mom worked like crazy yesterday. She washed the floor in the kitchen, and dragged the rug sucking monster around. She made a nice dinner for both of us (chick-hen) and baked her favorite chocolate cake. (I'll tell you a secret - she puts coffee in her chocolate cake. And yesterday she grated the skin of an orange into it too, and she added some sinna-minna-min. I am not sure if that still makes it a "chocolate" cake, but hey, what do I know?)

Then she mowed the lawn and watered her garden. She said an evil intruder kitty has been digging in some pots on the porch, so she moved some stuff around so the evil intruder can't jump up there any more.  Mom did all the dishes and washed all the laundry, AND she folded it all and put it away. Which kinda sucks, because last week I napped in the basket full of clean sheets all week long.  She washed all the pots and the pans, watched the tennis and finished sewing the binding on her Black Crayons quilt.

I'm glad she's going back to her day-hunting gig today, because I'm exhausted just watching her.

Sunny Sunday

It's finally a sunny day here in New Hampster. It isn't the HOTS, but it's nice, so Mom's got the windows open.  She's been working on samples for a class she will be teaching next month, and she's been doing it while keeping an eye on the tennis in Paris. So far it has been a mixed bag. Mr Murray won, Mr Raonic won, and Mr Federer lost.

Mom was so busy sewing yesterday that she didn't do any chores, so that's what she's doing today. She's got the washing machine shuffle going, she's done the dishes, and she just washed the kitchen floor.

Me, I'm enjoying a nap on my kitty condo. The window is open and I can look outside.
