Thursday Thing

I suppose I have always known this, but here it is... Never underestimate the power of Mom.  She has been cleaning in the "Office" and last night she moved the bureau, re-hung her quilt and cleaned out some more stuff from the closet. She loaded up the car with two of those big bins I showed you the other day.

She wants to move the desk to the wall under the quilt, but she can't do that by herself.  I have NOT been snoopervising. There is too much craziness going on, so I have been napping on my kitty condo. I can check the room out later, when Mom's away day-hunting.

Junk in the Trunk

Yesterday after Mom fed me my dinner she went to the dungeon to get some grey bins. Then she went into the "office" (also known as the junk room" and started pulling stuff out of the closet.  She didn't work in there long but she did fill up three bins.

The bin on the left is full of stuff that's going in the trash. The two in the middle are filled with stuff to go to Goodwill. The red plastic bins are going to Auntie Karate and the boots are going to Mr Karate. Mom has a stack of stuff she is giving away on her quilting blog.  It was messy for a while.

I was napping in the recliner under this quilt.  When Mom was done, we watched the new episode of SHERLOCK, which was hilarious and hysterical.

I got lots of scritches. It was a good evening for the both of us.

Millie Monday

Hey Mom, I know you're all excited because you got your big list of chores done, but really, do you have to pester me when I am trying to take a nap?

Stan The Man Sunday

We are furry excited here. Stan won the Aussie Open today.  We have been watching him for some time, and were heartbroken when he lost to the Joker last year. Mom and I are happy to see him win.

Mom will be cooking the books later, and I have found an awesome place to nap. It's a good day.

Mom's feeling better after her fall the other day. She has a boo-boo on her chin (and it looks pretty funny) and a matching set of black-and-blue bruises on each of her knees. Megan had it right. She just can't carry off the black chin as well as I can!

Freaking Cold Friday

Mom fell again last night when she took out the trash. She says she did not fall on the ice, but tripped, fell on her knees, and hands, and her chin hit the wooden steps. She's got a bit of "road rash" there and she's hoping it doesn't turn black and blue.

I really don't know what's wrong with that. I have a black chin and as we all know it's very stylish.

Thursday

Hmm.

Mom's ifone doesn't seem to want to send the pictures she took of me to this blog, so this posts might be photo-less.  Sorry about that.

Wait, wait... here it comes!

It's still very cold here, and Mom has been watching the tennis in Oz while she eats her breakfast. I have been napping on her newest quilt.  That's pretty much it.

Stay warm, kitties.

Wordy Wednesday

We only got a "dusting" of snow last night, and not the three to six inches the weather guys were expecting. But we do have the cold. It is 3F (-16C) outside now. I will be spending a lot of time in my heated cat cup.

The tennis in Oz has been good. The late matches are still going on when Mom gets up in the morning, so she was able to watch Stan-the-man beat Djokovic yesterday and this morning we watched Roger Federer win against Andy Murray.

Last night we watched the first Sherlock. Oh boy, Mom loves him big time. Watson too.

Mom's slowly getting the house back to "normal" (that means clean) now that she has finished her funny chicken quilt. She actually folded and put away the laundry that had been sitting out for two weeks. She did all the dishes in the kitchen and cleared off a lot of junk on the dining room table. She paid all the Mr Bills and the worktables in her studio and clean and neat. There is a gigantic stack of paper in the "office" she has to work her way through.

Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a cat?

Tuxie Tuesday

I love getting my regular morning scritches...

Can you see where I am lying?  (Yup that's Mom's new quilt.)

Millie Monday

Mom has decided to put her signature on the back of the Chicken quilt. Naturally I had to put it through the QA (Quality Assurance) testing.  I am happy to say it has passed with flying colors.

Easy Like Sunday

It's a big day today here at Chez Millie. Mom is watching the tennis in Oz (Australia.) Later we will cross our fingers while my pals, the guys named Pat play the horsies.

We had snow yesterday. It was heavy wet snow, good for making snowballs. Mom has to go out and brush the snow off the metal masheen. It is above freezing now, but later this week it will get a lot colder.

It's a busy TV day. After the football, Mom will watch Downton Abbey, and then the new series of Sherlock starts.

I see many scritches in my future!

Snoozy Saturday

Mom and I are both relaxing today. Mom finished her Chicken Quilt and is going to take it easy. We'll be watching the tennis, and the snow falling outside.

Fabric Friendly Friday

I'm  being nice here, lying on the fabric Mom is using for her Chicken quilt, instead of the quilt itself, which you can see in the foreground of this picture.

At least that's what Mom thinks. I slept on the quilt all night!

Heh!

Truthful Thursday

Lookit this crazy weather outside. This picture was taken yesterday morning (Mom has been busy sewing on her Chicken quilt.) It had rained all night, then the temperature went below freezing and everything froze. Mom's metal masheen was covered in ice. Then the weather got warmish, and the result was a thick fog. Mom says it was nasty driving because it was hard to see.

What I can see is how much of the snow is gone.

I love my heated cat cup.

Tennis in Oz

Mom loves tennis. It is time for the Australian Open, so the only thing that will be on the picture box for the next two weeks (outside of Downton Abbey, Sherlock and my pals the guys named Pat) will be the tennis.

I sense prolonged periods for laptime and scritches.

Sounds good.

(but boy, oh boy, was Mom pissed at Julian Fellowes last night...)

Easy Like Sunday

I am napping in the sun.

We had some very interesting weather yesterday. The weatherguys said it was supposed to get warm, then rain, but that didn't happen. It stayed cold, and it rained.

Then it got warm (55F) and it got really foggy.

This is what it looks like this morning. It's a gorgeous day, sunny and 45F!
(Mom took this pictures through the window, btw)

See that ice at the end of the driveway?  Mom really wants that to go away. She fell on the ice on Friday. It was covered with a dusting of snow so she couldn't see it.

Enjoy your day!

Saturday Scritches

This is a selfie Mom took of me sitting on her lap while I got some scritches.

I know it looks weird, but yup, it's true. I get in Mom's lap on a fairly regular basis, and demand scritches.

Formerly Feral Friday

Hey Mom, you coming to sit with me? Hurry up.

Tuxie Tuesday

It rained all day yesterday. It got very very foggy - Mom said it was like being in a cloud - and during the day the temperature got all the way up to 55F! That's almost 13C!  But it got really cold last night, and right now it is 10F, and won't get much warmer. The rain melted some snow, but as you can see from the driveway, it's all frozen. It's not as cold here as it is in other parts of the US of A, and I am certainly glad to be an inside kitty.  I have been spending a lot of time in my heated cat cup, or on my kitty condo, where it is nice and warm.  Do you have a favorite napping spot or two or three?

Icky Monday

I am napping on the tall stool in the Office, on my window perch, in my heated cat cup. (I like to keep Mom guessing.) It is raining outside, and has been raining most of the night. The sun is up, although you can't tell from this photo.

While it rained most of the night, the temperatures were close to freezing, so that black road really very slippery and Mom will have to be careful when she drives to her day hunting gig in the metal masheen.

Yesterday Mom went to see the new Hobbit movie with Mim-may and Pip-pay. She was so tired later that she couldn't stay up to watch the first episode of Downton Abbey.  Tsk Tsk.  No spoilers, please!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

I am taking it very easy today. Mom is too, actually. She did all the house cleaning stuff yesterday so she is taking it easy today too.  Later we will both watch the new season of Downton Abbey (No spoilers, please!)

This is what it looks like outside this morning.
The temperature is supposed to get above freezing later today, and it is supposed to rain. For those of you who are familiar with my almost-annual When When Contest, you know that although sun and warm temperatures melt snow, rain melts it faster.  So we'll see what all this snow looks like tomorrow!

Have a nice day! Spend it napping in your favorite spot.

Snoozy Saturday

If it's fabric, it belongs to me.

Brrr...

Don't let this lovely snowy scene fool you.

Check out the thermometer that's outside our house.

While this is certainly COLD, combined with the wind, the "wind chill factor" makes it more like -14F (-25C).  Lookit what the weather guys say the temperatures are around different places in New Hampster:

and here is the "wind chill"

In weather like this it's best to be an inside cat.

Oh No, More Snow!

While I did this yesterday,

Mom took down all the Christy-mas decorations and put the Santa away.

all the decorations are in these four boxes which Mom brought down to the dungeon.

but that's not the biggest news. We're supposed to have a big, long snowstorm starting early Thursday morning and ending Friday afternoon. On Wednesday night schools in Mass and some in New Hampster have already cancelled classes for both Thursday AND Friday.

Mom has already decided to ask for a vacation day on Friday.

What can I say? It's winter in New Hampster.
