New Hampster is Pink!

I am very happy to tell everybody that the great state of New Hampster is PINK!

(photo from the New York Times)

Folks in our state take their politics very seriously, but this year they did something no other state has ever done. You can read all about it here.

They elected women to every position in Congress. And they also elected a woman for governor.  It doesn't end there. The speaker of the House and the Chief Justice are also women.

New Hampster is a very small state, and I am proud to say we are "ahead of the curve."

That is so awesome! Mom says that maybe Congress will function better when all the senators and representatives are women!

My human thinks that is awesome! And we are ALL girls here, including the dog (except for my human's boyfriend, who is a musician so not exactly a macho type!), so we also applaud this.

Well done New Hampster. Next step: representation for cats, I say.

We think this is the only way to get meaningful work done.
Now if our state could only get rid of Michelle Bachmann.

HURRAY for the sensible people of New Hampster for electing all of those smart sensible ladies ("Pink" for those who like their politicians to actually think). Millie you are a very lucky lady cat to live in such a progressive State as New Hampster. Perhaps, in the future, you could pass a bill that would grant cats equal rights that all those rights that woofies are getting. Cats and woman need to stick together or some of the male persuasion will have us living back in 1950. Although...back then they did not have a fine invention such as the heated cat cup.
