Silly Sunday

I was investigating yesterday, and Mom happened to get her camera out just in time.

Heh!

Finally Friday!

You know your Mom is an "Artiste" when she picks a bunch of herbs from the garden and thinks they're just as beautiful as a bouquet of flowers.

Mom says she's not going anywhere this weekend, and she needs my to sit near her and purr.

I think I can do that!

Thursday Thought

I like drawers, but I don't like getting into boxes.

Go figure.

Tattle-Tale Tuesday

It's all Mom's fault.

Really.

The reason I haven't been blogging so much the last week or so. (Mom rolls eyes.)

Mom's been VERY busy at her day hunting gig. First, it was NEW servants. Next it was giving the New servants NEW jobs, and firing the old ones, and that part isn't finished yet! (Millie, we've been working for this a long time. It's a BIG project, and it's very exciting.)

THEN it was moving the cook-the-books stuff from one servant to another, and giving it a facelift. (Millie, it's migrating the Accounting software to the new server and then upgrading it).

THEN it was installing a new MALE servant. (E-mail, Millie, E-mail! You know what that is.)

THEN it was installing new E-mail software on every computer at the place. (And uninstalling the old stuff.)

THEN it was getting hundreds of thousands of guys in bloo shorts to move the mail from one servant to another. (It was not! It was a couple of guys, and I don't know what they were wearing.)

THEN it was teaching everybody how the new E-mail software worked. (Lucky me!)

Mom says there's gonna be a little break for a couple of days, and then more NEW servants firing OLD servants, and then even more junk. (If it's junk, it's the most expensive junk you ever saw!)

ANYWAY! Mom's been working LATE and coming home TIRED. She hasn't even been sewing! (You haven't exactly been posing for pictures either, dear Millie.)

I think Mom has a vacation coming up. (Only in September, and not soon enough.)

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. (Knock yourself out.)

Mom needs lots of purrs. (You got that right!)

Millie Monday

It may look funny, but it's not. I'm actually quite comfortable.

Now if you'll excuse me, I was napping.

Sunday Hots

It's Hot. Not as hot as yesterday, but still Hot. I'm hiding out in the air-colditioned bedroom.

Mom, on the other hand, has been out and about. Mr Karate took her out for her birthday on Saturday. She asked him to bring her places were it was INSIDE, COOL, and there wasn't too much walking.

So where did he bring her? First he brought her to eat real live dead raw fish. (I don't like fish.)

Then he brought her to buy some of her favorite Evil, Evil Little Chocolates.

Next, he brought her here. To the Butterfly Place, (which has no air-colditioning)Mom and Mr Karate watched yukky BUGS flying around for a couple of hours!
One big one even landed on Mom's HAT. I'm telling you, I would have CAUGHT that big bug and he wouldn't have ever done THAT again!

After THAT, they drove to some place called 900 Degrees (sound HOT to me) where they had Martinis, Pizza and other stuff.

Then they went to see the very last Harry Potter movie, the one where Harry finally kills You-Know-Who.

Mom had a great time.

Family Friday

Mom did it.

She made two dozen Red Velvet Cupcakes. She made them at home, in her own kitchen. She's nuts. She brought them to her day-hunting gig. She even turned on the air-colditining in her metal masheen for the trip. She had to. It was so hot the frosting was melting!

Eight-thirty in the morning, and they were already half gone.Later in the day, it got really, really hot. 100 is a Really Big Deal here in New Hampster. We didn't only have the Hots, we had the Stickies. Yuck! Mom says it's so hot she might even leave the air colditioner on all day for ME!

(100F is 37.77C)

Happy Birthday Mom!

It's my wonderful Mom's birthday today. She loves me even though she can't hold me, or pick me up, or snorgle me. I love her (even though my 'Nip got smushed by a stranger cat.)

Happy Birthday Mom!

Taking the Cake Tuesday

Mom gifted Mim-may and Pip-pay with this quilt, and YES, I did make sure to cover it nicely with my furs beforehand.Several of you suggested Mom bake her birthday cupcakes someplace other than here, and that's exactly what she's going to do. Mim-may's entire house is air-colditioned, so Mom is going over there on Wednesday to bake her Red Velvet Cupcakes.

Mim-may had only one request.

That she and Pip-pay each get a cupcake when Mom is finished.

Too Hot for The Hot-As-Hell-Box

Mom's birthday is later this week, and she's been talking about making some Red Velvet Cupcakes to share with her coworkers at her day-hunting gig, but with the hots supposed to be over 90F most of the week, she says she might not bake them.I think she should go for it. What the heck, you only live once, and she's got an air colditionter in the bedroom! If she gets too hot she can just go in there.

After all, that's where I'll be! I camp out on the bed, right across from it!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

It's so hot, but I'm not complaining because even though it is hot here, it isn't as HOT HOT HOT as some places in the rest of the US. I am sure that most kitties are napping in any cool spot they can find, and I am no exception. I am napping under the bed. Mom can't get any good pictures for the blog. Oh well. While most of us are taking it easy today, some are working hard. When Mom went out to her garden this morning, she saw this big fat bumblebee working in the zucchini blossoms. Mom said she was wiggling her butt for all she was worth.

Mom left her to it.

Stay cool, kitties!

Formerly Feral Friday

I am such a lucky girlcat! I get to spread my furs on the most wonderful quilts! It's another advantage of being formerly feral!

Thinking Thursday

HAHAHA!

Looking at me I bet you're thinking I haven't been thinking of anything to post on Thinking Thursday.I'm thinking I like it better when the hots aren't so HOT.

Tattle-Tale Tuesday

I love my Mom. She's pretty terrific. She isn't perfect though. I am sure that is an endearing quality in some universe, but for me it's just a good tattle-tale.

A squillion years ago, Mim-may gave Mom this notebook with cool Laurel Burch blue cats.

Mom uses it to remember stuff. As you can see, she writes stuff she needs to buy when she goes food-hunting, the stuff she wants to cook and the things she has to do. Mom liked that it had a bookmark and the cover closed with a magnet.
She was getting to the end, when my dear sweetheart Monty Q and SheBean sent her a brandy spanking new one.Mom was Over The Moon with excitement. She started filling it right up, and last week she brought it with her when she goes food hunting, like she always does. When she was done, she put it in her bag, and came home.

Except she didn't.

Put it in her bag, I mean. She came home.

She couldn't find the black book. She looked in all the bags. She looked in the metal masheen. She moved every single thing in the house looking for the black book, but she couldn't find it.

She was seriously bummed.

So on Saturday, when she was at the local bookstore, she bought herself a new one. It has a bookmark, and closes with a magnet.
When she went food hunting the next day, she had an idea, and went to the Customer Service Desk and asked if anybody found a black notebook.

Without saying a word, the lady reached into a drawer and handed this to Mom.

(Ahem!)

Millie Monday

Guess who came to visit yesterday? Mim-may and Missy-the-woofie, who wasted no time in sleeping on MY pile of laundry.
I sat across the room, and gave her the Evil Eye, but you can see all the good that did. I had to wait until she left to do the next best thing.Re-claim my spot.

Hmph!

And for all the beans who want Mom's Pesto recipe, you can find it here: PESTO, from her old cooking blog. If you want it in a "word" document, email me and I will send it to you.

Silly Sunday

I am doing what any normal, intelligent Cat would do on a perfect summer Sunday (or any other day, come to that) which is, not much.Mom, however, went outside and started cutting leaves off her Basil plants.
When her giant colander was completely full...
she brought them inside, put them in the food destruction gizmo, add some other junk, and then put it in jars. She says it's called Pesto. Her friends call it "green gold" and practically faint if she gives them a jar of the stuff.

Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a cat?

Saturday Caturday

Is that a bug on the wall?

Formerly Feral Friday

Mom went shopping at the red bulls-eye store last night, and brought this stuff home. She says this is because I am -formerly feral- and I should be grateful.I know she's an artiste and all, and looks at the world differently from a lot of beans, but frankly, I think she's taking this just a bit too far.

She's the one that should be grateful, not me.

I think she really needs the weekend. She needs to chillax.

Thinking Thursday

Mom says her day hunting gig got three new servants yesterday. They also got a lot of abc's. Mom says they got a SAN and NAS and three ESX's a GIG switch and a bunch of other stupid junk. Mom says the Yoop-E-Ess is getting a workout. Mom's been installing the new Office all over the place (which sounds really stupid to me) and she's talking about upgrading the stuff that cooks the books.

Mom's been doing so much thinking, and she's been so busy lately, that I'm thinking she needs to lie down next to me and nap.

I think thinking is overrated. That's what I think.

Tattle-Tale Tuesday

Just because I am an indoor kitty doesn't mean I don't know what's going on in the rest of the neighborhood.

The house next door is for sale. No beans have lived there for almost a year. Every few days metal masheens pull into the driveway, and beans go for a walk around inside, then the get back in their masheens and go away.

The house needs a little work. The hole you see in the wall next to the window is a hole for a dryer vent. The hole has no cover, making it a great spot for a small family to move in. I think this is Mrs Bird. She and Mr Bird fly to the nest a lot, but didn't let Mom take their picture until this past weekend.
Mr and Mrs Bird have two young chicks who can be VERY noisy when they are hungry. They chirp a lot at breakfast and dinnertime.
Mrs Bird has to go food hunting several times a day.
The little chicks have big appetites, and very little patience.
Mom and I both hope the Bird family will have left the nest before the house is sold, so they can find a new home before they get evicted. Mom seems to be pretty sure new bean owners might not be so happy to share their house with Mr and Mrs Bird and the little Chirps.

Dunno why.

Happy Fourth of July!

As you all know, I do not like crack-and-boom-storms. I do not like fire-cracker-boomers either, and last night was full of fire-cracker-boomers going off every other minute. I found a good place to hide, and I am staying put.No, I am not hiding in the Zuke-eenie. Mom just wants to show off.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

When it gets hot out, it's important to find a cool spot to nap.

Whapping Saturday

In a couple of hours the Ladies final will be played at Wimbledon. Two lady beans will hit a ball around. I like to whap stuff. I would really like to whap the ball in this video.

Stupid Blogger only lets you see half of the video, so click this link: Wooden Xylophone, and go to You Tube to watch the whole thing. It is really cool.

Really cool. A wooden ball that plays Bach. I bet I could make some fun noise if I had a toy like that!

Here's a link to a video that shows how they did it. It's in Japanese, so I don't know what they're saying, but if I can figure it out, I bet you can!

Formerly Feral Friday

Of COURSE Mom planted some 'Nip for me! It's in a special pot on the porch, where it's protected. I've already had a sample, and it's great stuff.I love my 'Nip!
