Millie Monday

This is me, lying next to Mom on the couch, getting scritches.  I don't do this every day.

There's still a lot of snow outside. School has been cancelled and a lot of folks are without electricity.  They even cancelled Halloween!

Snowy October Sunday

This is what it looked like when Mom got up this morning.  That's about a foot of snow. It's heavy, wet snow. It broke lots of branches of trees in the neighborhood.  We did not have the innernets or telephone until after lunch (which is why I am posting so late.) Mim-may and Pip-pay do not have electricity.

More later.

@#*&$% Saturday

Can you believe this?  It's OCTOBER! It's not necessarily a surprise to see a bit of snow in October, but to have THIS MUCH is unusual.

I am NOT a happy cat.

Actually, I don't care as much as Mom does. She's saying all the words on the bad werds list.

Guess I'll find a good place to nap and watch the magical slipping sliding machines out in the street.

Snuggle Bean

Lookit this cutie patootie in the snuggie! Isn't he adorable?
Hey Monty, get ready, I'm comin' over! I want to curl up and nap next to this little guy.

Um... He needs a nickname.

Thursday Three

Mom came home with a GIANT box.  I sniffed it real good, but I didn't get into it.
Inside THAT box was ANOTHER big box.
And inside THAT box was another thing that looked like a box.
It's a hot-as-hell box that sits on the kitchen counter.  We already HAVE a hot-as-hell box, I don't know why Mom felt the need to get another one.

Mom says she will use it to make toast.

Uh hunh.
Okay then.
Beans is weird, is all I can say.

I Am an Auntie-Cat, Again!

I have the most wonderful news! I am an auntie-cat again! The Stork brought another little sticky bean to Monty Q's fambly!  A little boy sticky bean. Actually, he weighed in at over 9 pounds, so he's a BIG little sticky bean. (That's almost as much as me!)

Isn't he is BEAUTIFUL!  Isn't he ADORABLE! Oh! I bet he smells good! I want to sniff him all over (well, maybe not ALL over!)

OOOOooOOoOOO! Hey Mom! I think you gotta make this baby a quilt!

Tattle Tale Tuesday

Mom's big week is over, but hoo boy!  You should see the house! There are dirty dishes all over the kitchen, the dining room table is covered with stuff and Mom hasn't folded the laundry. You can all tell she hasn't taken any pictures of me lately. (Actually, that's because I've been camping out in the cat hammock in the other room, but still.)

She DID put all her quilts back up on the walls and over the bed, did some shopping on the internets and watched some dancing stars. And I slept right next to her on her bed last night. I really haven't got too much to complain about.

Then again, the weather guys mentioned the "sn--" word for this weekend!

Millie Monday

Mom had a great class the other day, but was good for nothing on Sunday. She lay on the couch, watched TV and gave me scritches.

It was a great weekend.

The Day

Today is the day Mom has been waiting for for months. It's the day she is going to be teaching how to make crazy letters to other quilters. Mom is wicked excited. (You can read about over on her own blog.)

I'm glad. She's had a week from Hell and she deserves a really good day.  Besides, when this is all over, she can get back to what's really important in her life.

Namely, me.

Finally Friday

Mom says the big upgrade job is over. It's done.  Mom says there are a few loose end to tie up, but the dust has settled and life will be getting back to normal for Mom.

Mom did say the bug was a bear, and getting The Fix was more complicated than expected. The bear bug got loose and broke all Hell before they finally got it under control.  Mom got home right on time last night, but didn't do much. She lay on the couch (scritches for me!) and got a good night's sleep.  She's gonna do a little day hunting today, and then come home early and have a nap.

Good idea!

Thursday Thought

It's Tocktober! Here's my contribution! Happy 'Tocktober Day, Derby!

As for Mom's week.... It was too good to be true.

Mom says they found the bug about mid-morning, but they all thought it was an overworked servant that couldn't keep up.  It was a bug, and a bad one. It stopped stuff dead. Mom worked late. My dinner was late (and I didn't have ANY crunchies!)

Mom says a special sultan is trying to create a work-around, but the bug is still there, and it won't be deaded any time soon.  The sultan costs a lot of green papers, but Mom says they have to get the work-around going. The big big job is done, and except for the bad bug, Mom is happy. Tired, but happy.

Mom PROMISED she won't be home late tonight.

She left me a bowl of crunchies though. Just in case.

Hump Day

No, this isn't a Whisker Humps post. Mom says Wednesday is "Hump Day," meaning it is in the middle of the week, and once you get past it, you are "over the hump" and it's downhill from there.

Frankly, I think she's been working too hard and her brain is just a little bit fried.  She got home 40 minutes after her usual BEDTIME last night! That's FIVE HOURS past my dinner time!  I was like, starving!

Mom could tell, so before she even took her coat off she filled my bowl with some nice fresh stinky goodness.

(Now Millie, you have to tell everybody I left you a bowl of crunchies yesterday morning, because I knew I would be home late.  You had something to eat.)

Yeah, there were crunchies, but STILL.

Mom says the Week From Hell is turning out to be the Week From Good, and it might be the Week From Seriously Awesome before it's over, but she doesn't want to jinx it.  She has to go back to her day hunting gig before the sun comes up this morning, but she says she will be home on time tonight.

I'll be waiting.

Tattle-tail Tuesday

I love Monty Q
In case you couldn't tell (or didn't know).

(Now Monty, be careful when you look at this photo. I don't want you hurting yourself!)

Millie Monday

I've been keeping an eye on Mom, making sure she doesn't get too tired before her big week.  So far, she's doing pretty good.
She put some BEEF in the crooked pot (yes, I know it's the crock pot, but I think crooked pot is funnier.) This means her dinner will be all ready when she gets home
She has also replenished my stinky goodness stash. There is enough foods for me for almost two weeks.  All my favorite flavors too.

Please go over to see my friend Parker and leave her some purrs. She could use them. She has the dreaded C-word, cancer. I've got my purr-er in overdrive for her.

Sunny Saturday

I am enjoying sitting in my cat hammock and watching bird TV.

Mom, on the other paw, is running around like a crazy bean.  Next week is officially The Week From Hell for her at her day hunting gig. It's the big ERP migration to a virtual server and MSSQL. She says the you-sers are going to be connecting to a new Citrix server through a brandy new Receiver.  She says everybody is going to be DOWN for a while while data moves.  She's going to be getting in early to her day hunting gig, and staying late. When that's done, the software that cooks the books is gonna change too. In the middle of all of it she has to go to the human v-e-t (nothing special) and get her head furs cut.  Then she's going to be teaching a quilting class on Saturday.

Now, I know (and a lot of my kitty friends do too) that MY Mom is super-wicked organized.  She's got her quilting class all ready (and most of the stuff she will need is already packed, too).  She's done everything she can at the day hunting gig to make sure the Week From Hell is really the Week of OK. If I know my Mom, she'll even have easy to eat dinners already planned so she doesn't have to mess up the kitchen much.

So if you don't see me much next week, you'll know why.

Now don't you worry. I'll make sure to sleep next to Mom each night, and make sure I get my scritches because that helps calm her down.

I'm a cat, after all, and that's my job.

Family Friday

Violette's quilt is visiting Mom and I for a few weeks.  Mom will enjoy looking at it, and sleeping under it, but I have a big job to do. I have to cover this quilt quite thoroughly with my furs.

I'm totally up for the challenge.  Let the napping begin!

Not Quite Wordless

I slept with Mom a bit last night on her bed. She's saying I took up HALF the bed! I do not know why she said that. As you all plainly see, I am merely a small kitty on a very big bed. I do not take up HALF of it.

Whatever spot in which I happen to be sleeping is mine, that's all I ask. That's perfectly reasonable.

Tuxie Tuesday

Why are you looking at ME like that, Mom?  If  you leave this nice cushy basket of clean towels around, I'm going to nap in it.

Because, you know, I'm a cat and that's my job.

Millie Monday

This is the chair in which I sit next to Mom.  Sometimes she gets up for something, and I stay put.

Sunny Sunday

It's sunny out, and a lot warmer than usual. Mom's got the windows open.  Where am I?

Cuddled up in one of the quilts Miss Julie made for Mom.
I did get in the hammock for a little while.  It's important to keep Mom guessing.

Silly Saturday

Last night I heard woofies barking.  I ran through the house, and found them on the TV. Good place for them.

Friday, October 07, 2011

Finally Friday

Mom has been working hard at her day hunting gig to get the big project finished. The last step got delayed, and it's coming up in the next two weeks. That means Mom's going to be wicked busy between now and then.  She's also getting ready to teach a quilting class - in the same week!  So she's running around like crazy trying to get everything ready.  This morning she went clothes shopping - online.

Last night was cold again. I slept on the bed even though Mom woke up the heating monster in the basement. He's gonna take a nap this weekend because we are supposed to have the Hots, but she says he'll be up again next week and hungry enough to start eating green papers.

I'm so glad I'm a cat.

Thursday Thought

I have to tell you all something.

I have been sleeping on Mom's bed at night. Right next to her.

I hop over to my cat hammock before she wakes up, but I'm close by all night long. It's warm, and I get scritches in the middle of the night.

One other thing. Mom tried to post to Blogger using her new phone. (sigh) It chopped the picture off, so Mom had to finish it on the computer (yay!)

Not Wordless Wednesday

Mom has got "I-phone-eye-tis" real bad. Actually I think the iPhone should be called the ME ME ME phone.

It says, "ME, ME, ME!  I can take pictures."

It says, "ME, ME, ME!  I can take videos."
It says, "ME, ME, ME!  I can send email."

It says, "ME, ME, ME!  I can surf the internet."
It says, "ME, ME, ME!  I can tell you what time it is."

It says, "ME, ME, ME!  I can tell you what the weather is."
In Australia.
It says, "ME, ME, ME!  I can read you a book."
It says, "ME, ME, ME!  I can send text messages."
It says, "ME, ME, ME!  I can talk to anybody."
It says, "ME, ME, ME!  I can draw you a map."
It says, "ME, ME, ME!  I can post to Blogger."

Ahem.

I bet it's whappable.

Hmm...

I wonder if it can swim.

Tuxie Tattle Tale Tuesday

Mom's got a new cell phone and she has been tinkering with it ever since she got home from her day hunting gig. Eventually I am sure she will realize it is -just- a phone and she'll put it aside.

In the meantime, I think I'll take a nap.

Millie & Mom Monday

Everything's pretty normal around here.  Yesterday, Mom went food hunting, did the washing machine shuffle, changed the sheets on the bed, paid the Mr Bills and cooked the books and washed the dirty pots and pans.

I napped.

Mom worked on the quilting class she will be teaching in a couple of weeks.

I napped.

Mom introduced herself to the new next-door neighbors, who bought the house next door that has been empty for almost a year.

I napped.

Mom and I both watched my pals, the guys named Pat, beat the other guys.

Mom made a cake.

I napped.

Mom did some day hunting work on her tippy-tappy lapbox.

I napped.

Mom's excited because she's getting a new cell phone later today.  She says it is White, and it is very special.

(Yawn!)

I plan to nap.

LiveStrong Day

Cancer took Gizzy and Jasmine from me, and lots of other cats are at the Bridge because of it. Imagine a world without cancer! I can!  LiveStrong!
