Thursday Thing

Mom has a new "thing."

Dunno what it's all about, but she's spent the last few nights parked in front of the tippy tappy lapbox tippy tapping for hours. No sewing, tippy tapping!

Tippy tappy, tippy tappy, tippy tappy... Then she runs to the other room and the other computer where she makes papers spit out of the printer. She looks at papers, draws squiggles on them, brings them BACK to the tippy tappy lapbox, does some more tippy tapping, then she throws the paper away!

Then she does it all over again!

Sometimes, before she draws the squiggles, she admires her handiwork while she eats.

There are papers ALL OVER THE PLACE! She has them piled on the desk, on the big table in the table room, on the coffee table, laying on the floor near the recliner, stacked up on the nightstand... you get the picture. Sometimes I see her rummaging through the various stacks. Then she'll find a piece of paper, and go back to tippy tapping.

Now, I've looked at those papers. There isn't anything special about them at all. Each one is just like the other. But hoo boy! Does she get her knickers in a twist if I mess up her stacks!

She says she's "busy" and working on a special project.

Frankly, I think she's lost her mind. I think she's obsessed. Last night I had to meow for a whole minute to get her to get up and give me my treats at treat-time.

I know I'm glad I'm a cat, but I think this is one of those times stronger action is called for.

Tattle Tale Tuesday

I have a few tales to tell today.

1. Mr FF attended the College of the Redwoods. He has never made furniture for any manufacturing company.

2. Mr Karate has a form of alopecia.

3. Mom is supposed to pack this box to go on a very long trip, and my lying here on top of this nice fleece (which is intended to go -in- the box) means I am an IBOL Kitteh.

The Family Monday

There was a big family brunch at Mim-may's on Sunday. Here are Mr Fine Furnituremaker, PlusOne, and Mr Karate. (Mr FF is uncle to both "younger" boys.) Mr FF isn't a grouch, he just doesn't like being fussed over and having to pose in pictures.Mr FF used to play a musical instrument in high school, and listened to Mr Karate play cello.
Did you know that Mr FF and Mr Karate have the same first name?Do you think they look alike?
What about now?

A good time was had by all.

My Tabby Man

I have seen a picture of Monty, sans furs. (No, I'm not going to show you.) I know what it's like to get shaved, so I know how funny he feels. He's the same Monty, but I'll tell you something you might not know.

He -isn't- fat.

In fact, he's a lean, mean, handsome feline machine...

MY feline machine!

Surprising Saturday

Mom spent the whole day yesterday with her brother, Mr Fine Furnituremaker. You can read about it on her quilting blog. I was left to fend for myself. Fortunately there are plenty of good places to nap, and there was a big bowlful of stinky goodness, and another of my favorite crunchies along with several bowls of water. It was a nice warm day, and Mom had windows open so I could sit in the sun and smell the nice warm smells.

This morning, news of an alarming nature reached me.

Monty's beans have been on vacation the last few days (visiting some weirdos named Mickey, Pluto, Minnie and Tinkerbell, among others). Monty was sent to kitty jail. But that's not the worst part.

The worst part is...

is... is... (I am so sorry, I'm having a hard time getting it out...) he was...

he was...

shaved clean.

Yes. He was shaved clean. He is now a nekkid tabbyman.

I think I have to go lie down now.

Thursday Thought

Mom's brother, Mr Cabinetmaker, from the high desert of Color-ado is visiting New Hampster. Mom hasn't seen him in six years.

I think that means she's gonna spend a lot of time with him over the next few days.

Oh well.

Happy Birthday Mooshie!

Oh! Isn't this the cutest little sticky person on the whole planet? It's my favorite little sticky person, Monty's babybean, Mooshie!
Mooshie is One Year old today!Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday dear Mooshie!
Happy Birthday to You!

This picture was taken when Mom and I visited last March. Now Mooshie is bigger, and he's walking!

Mom and I love Mooshie so much!

Millie Monday

I was hiding out all weekend. Sometimes I was under the bed, sometimes I was in my tent.

One time, I was on Mom's new quilt. She says I was on her lap, but I wasn't. I was on the new quilt. If the new quilt was covering her legs, that's different.

She didn't get any pictures, so she can't prove anything.

There is still time to vote for your favorite cats in Monty's Do The Q Contest!

Where Am I?

(Hint: I'm NOT in the tent.)

Friday, September 17, 2010

Finally Friday!

Mom got this new quilt from a friend of hers. You can read about it on her quilting blog. As you can see, I am giving it a very thorough QA test. Mom can have it when I'm finished.

Thursday Thoughts

The Hots have gone. Mom's got the windows closed. I'm spending most of my time on anything fleece I can find (fortunately there is -lots- of it around) and on the fleece pillow in my nifty tent. The tent is up against the heater, so it's going to be nice and toasty once the heating monster going.

Mom says not yet.

Oh and she says the upstairs next-door neighbors are being really obby-nox-ess. Actually, that's not the word Mom said. Mom used a few words from the bad werds list. Dunno what that's all about, but it's really got her upset.

Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a Cat?

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

I'm always telling Mom to sit down so I can get my scritches. Lookit what the man in the bloo shorts brought yesterday! A little chair quilt that says SIT! Maybe now Mom will listen.

(Mom's pal Lucinda made this little quiltie for her.)

Oh! Did you see Rafa last night! What a match! I am so happy he won, and got the Career Grand Slam! Whee!

Back to "Werk" Monday

Mom's stay-cation is over. She's going back to her day hunting gig today.

Mom had a big list of things she wanted to do during her stay-cation, and she crossed things off and added more. Mostly everything is crossed out. So she's happy. Except for the terrible happenings last Thursday, we had a good time together.

Go over and VOTE in the Do The Q Contest!
I'm making my own final selections and plan to get my vote in today!

Sporting Sunday

WELL! Mom and I watched Roger and Novak play Tennis yesterday. We were disappointed to see Roger lose, but Novak played very well. Today, we will be rooting for Rafael Nadal to win.

But first, we will be watching my pals, the guys named Pat. I live in New England, and they are my team!

I will be voting in Monty's Do The Q contest also! So many good entries... GO VOTE!

In other news, I slept in my nifty tent for a few hours last night, then I decided to curl up next to Mom for the rest of the night. (She put the fleece blanket on the bed, so it was nice and cozy.)

Surprising Saturday

Three years ago, Mom made me this tent. Three years ago I wouldn't get in it, so Mom stuck it away in the closet.

Mom noticed me hiding under the bed, and thought "Hmm... I wonder if Millie would like the tent? So she dragged it out and set it up.What can I say? It's a cat's prerogative to change her mind.

*Oh, and you know that PTU Mom brought home the other day? She took it back!

Terrible Thursday

Yesterday the score was

Millie: 1
Mom: 1

This morning, Mom went out. When she came back, she had this:A bigger PTU (Prisoner Transport Unit). So big, in fact, it is for woofies! Mom thought the wire top and door and more openings on the side would induce me to go into the box more willingly.

In her mind, the score was now like this:

Millie: 1
Mom: 2

However. Do you see me in this new PTU?
Of course not!

Millie: 2
Mom: 2

But later Mom and I got into an argument. She bribed me with stinky goodness. She bribed me with treats. She chased me around the house. She moved furniture. I was NOT going into that PTU.

She begged. She pleaded.
I resisted. I howled.

She got her leather gloves.
I hissed. I scratched.

In the end, we were both worn out, and I ended up in the original PTU.

Mom was shaking.
I was panting.

Millie: 2
Mom: 3

We went for a ride in the new metal masheen. We went to the v-e-t.

Millie: 2
Mom: 4

I'm not stupid, I knew what was coming. I wasn't getting out of that box even if the door was open.

Millie: 3
Mom: 4
I was unceremoniously dumped OUT of the PTU onto a steel table.

Millie: 3
Mom: 5

A very nice, very gently lady v-e-t petted me, and told me how pretty I was. (I get a point for that.) She looked at my teeths. (I get another point for that.) She poked my tummy and I was very nice. I didn't growl or scratch or fight. (I get another point for that.). I think I got stabbed. (I deserve two points for that.) She carefully trimmed my claws, stroking me all the time. Then she picked me up, and very gently carried me into another room and put me on a scale.

Dear cats! I actually lost weight! I am a very slender, svelte 10.3 pounds! The very nice lady v-e-t said I was PERFECT! (I get another point for that.) When she was finished, Mom brought the PTU over to the table and I hopped right in! (I get another point for that.)

Millie: 10
Mom: 5

The Very Nice Lady V-e-t said she added a note to my record that I did not like getting into the PTU and that any future appointments should be considered "flexible." Dunno what that means exactly, but it didn't sound bad. Sounds like a point for ME!

Final score!

Millie: 11
Mom: 5

And beans think they are smarter than cats!

Mo Cats Day!

It's Mo Cats Day! Woo Hoo!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

However, wait a minute... WHAT HAPPENED TO MY FOODS DISH?

Poppy Q, I thought you were my FRIEND! What is this suggesting that Mom give me a "light" dinner the night before. The night before WHAT?

Millie: 1
Mom: 1

Wednesday Winner

Do you see me in this box? Indeed, you do not!

Hiding skills are vastly overrated. The prized skill is being able to successfully evade being put IN the box!

Millie: 1
Mom: 0

Tuxie Tuesday

I'm having fun hiding from Mom! She couldn't find me all day yesterday!

Millie Monday

I've tucked in my tail. I'm hiding better now.

Sneaky Sunday

In my plans to avoid this...
I am testing hiding places.I think I have to try harder.

Saturday, September 04, 2010

Slow Saturday...

It's going to be a nice, easy, slow day here today. It rained last night, but it is sunny and warm now. Mom and I will be having a nice relaxing day watching the Tennis.Mom is on stay-cation again next week, and we haven't got much planned next week either...

Am I Too Late?

Mom never thought it would come, but here I am doing a Full Monty! I hope it's not too late to enter the contest!

Almost Wordless Wednesday

Mom got a new set of wheels. Hers is the silver one on the right. Auntie Karate got new wheels too. Hers is the red one on the left.

Can you tell they're sisters?

**ps, Mom says I will get a chance to ride in it real soon because we got a notice from the stabby place that I need to get shot. Yeah, like I'm gonna let that happen any time soon...
