The continuing adventures of me, Millie, the kitty Malcolm rescued and cat bloggers all over the world helped save. I'm really grateful.
It's hot and sticky. So the windows are open, and I like that. I can smell the outside smells and hear the birdies outside.
They don't look like dolls.
They don't smell like dolls either.
You all know the dried stuff is good.
The fresh stuff is pretty good too! Sometimes the littlest things can be the best!
Me? I've been catching up on my napping.
This little pincushion arrived from Whiskeronsin. One of Mom's friends made it, and naturally, I had to inspect it.
It's over! The American, John Isner, won that epic marathon match at Wimbledon!
You know, the one that started on Tuesday and was called because of darkness... To win the fifth set at The Big W, you have to win by two games because there is no tiebreaker. Mr Isner & Mr Mahut played over six hours yesterday, still tied, until finally it got too dark to continue. The score in the fifth set is 59-59.
I am -so lucky- simply to be here today! You have No Idea! I almost died yesterday, watching Roger play at Wimbledon! Oh. Oh. Oh! It was positively heart-stopping!
This is the first day of play at Wimbledon, and Mom and I will be watching.
So how did Stay-cation Day 2 go? Unbelievable. Mom washed -four- windows, and even washed the windowsticks for three of them. They were so dirty, Mom put them in the bathtub! Yech!
Mom took the windows out last night to wash them.
Yup, she washed them while she watched golf-on-the-rocks.
I don't get it. I'm doing -my- bit according to plan.
Mom's on Stay-cation. She is furry excited. She plans to do a lot of sewing, watching tennis, and visiting with some of her quilting friends. She also plans to sleep late every day.
Last night after dinner, Mom was on the computer, and I was napping in the cat hammock near my favorite window. We could hear the little sticky people running around outside, making lots of noise and and having fun. Then it got really quiet. Mom brought the trash out because Friday is garbage day, and saw three police cars outside, with their lights flashing. Cops were talking to a lady next door, who was crying. Another cop was talking to somebody else down the street. There was lots of pleading, lots of "It wasn't my fault" and "she did it and I'm the one getting into trouble." It went on for a long time. Mom and I do not know what happened, but somebody got a ride in the paddywagon.
Mom finished the Gizzy Quilts and has to send them out later, and she's got to wrap and then mail a present for a Very Special Person, whose birthday is later this week. Naturally I will snoopervise.
It's Friday, and Mom can't wait for the weekend to be here. By the time she gets home after day hunting, it should be about 73F (22C). Mom's got her babes all matched up for the Doll Quilt Swap, and she's gonna spend as much time as she can in her sewing room. She's got a couple of Gizzy Quilts to finish, and I will be inspecting them very closely before they fly away.
I have a few random thoughts today.
Mr Karate came over for dinner last night. Mom cooked Grilled Flank Steak with Ginger Marinade and grilled red onions and portobello mushrooms. They said it was delicious. I got some, and it was!
It was crazy weather. It was sunny, then it got cloudy and windy, and rainy. Then it got sunny again, then it rained agai. What you can't see in this picture was that it was sunny at the same time it was pouring rain.
I found a good place to hide.
Raffa Nadal won the French Open today in a great match. Mom was bouncing up and down clapping and making lots of funny noises. She even said a few werds from the bad werds list.
Last night I saw an Evil Intruder Kitty on my porch. I think he was trying to steal MY 'NIP! I was Not Happy.
He jumped up the the railing and then jumped down,
knocking Mom's planter over.
Mom tried to rescue it. I think it still needs work.
Yesterday Mom stayed home, and actually took some lessons from me. She didn't make the bed, which gave me a nice soft place to nap all day long, and she didn't even get dressed until suppertime. She did what she wanted most of the day. I was pretty impressed! The continuing adventures of me, Millie, the kitty Malcolm rescued and cat bloggers all over the world helped save. I'm really grateful.
