Hey Mom, you can put that fan away now that it is getting colder...

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Easy Like Sunday Morning for me, anyway. Mom's in the kitchen making all kinds of stupid stuff. She's gonna give the hot-as-hell-box a run for its money today. Chili, bread and cookies.
.
I'm thinking about my friend, Mrs B, who went to the Bridge yesterday. She was one of the first friends I met in the innernets. I'm gonna miss her.

Saturday Caturday

Just helping out with the weekend chores. What are you doing today?

Friday, September 25, 2009

What's New Friday?

This is the wall of Mom's "cube" at her day hunting gig. You can see pictures of Mr Karate, and some other stuff she likes. Now check out the pictures Mom has on the coldbox here at home.
See any similarities?
Sheesh! It's a good thing I'm not the jealous type!

Thundering Thursday

Mom doesn't get out of bed in the morning when her squawkbox starts squawking. So I help.

I play Thundering Herd of Elephants. I run from the Sewing Room, through the Dining Room, into Mom's Bedroom and up onto this desk, then I turn around and run back to where I started. I do this two or three times.

I always pause for a moment on the desk to make sure she knows it's me. And I make as much noise as I can. When she reaches over and hits the squawkbox to stop it from squawking, I know she is awake, so then I jump onto her bed and approach her quietly. I let out a couple of tiny little mews, but I don't let her pet me. After all, the idea is to get her UP, so she can give me some stinky goodness!

If she still doesn't get up, I go over and scratch the wing chair. This always makes her shoot right out of bed. Of course, by the time she is upright, I have thundered back to the sewing room!

Then I go back into the bedroom and MEOW for all I am worth. She puts on her slippers and her bathrobe, but I don't stop MEOWING until she has made it to the kitchen and has put down a nice bowl of fresh stinky goodness for me.

Heh!

BabyBean!

Here he is! My own sticky little person, BabyBoyBean! Isn't he just the cutest thing? I am in Love! Mom can't stop smiling! She has been asked to be Godmother, and will make BabyBoyBean (Nickname to come later), a Very Special Quilt, which she will bring with her when she goes to Mary-land for the the christening (and obviously we don't know when that will be).

Monty's MomBean doesn't want to know -anything- about the quilt (beyond what she already knows, that KidBean and SweetBean have colored house blocks that Mom is interpreting in fabric for the quilt). So that means (gasp!) another Super Secret Project!

Here are a couple of the blocks Mom has made so far. I'm pretty sure you can figure out which one KidBean colored, and which one SweetBean did!

After this, you'll all have to wait and see.

Kisses and smootchies to BabyBoyBean!

He's Here!

The stork brought Monty Q a new baby boy bean! He arrived at 1:14 PM (Mary-land time), has brown hair and blue eyes. He weighs 8 pounds 14 ounces and is 21" long. MomBean says he has chubby cheeks and big feet!

Pictures to follow later!

Concatulations Monty Q & Fambly!

Mom's all leaky!

The Stork is Coming!

The Stork is Coming!

The Stork is Coming!

The Stork is on its way to Monty's house! It might get there today! I'm keeping watch...
The new little Babybean will come home in this quilt Mom made.
Monty needs our help. He needs to find a nickname for this new baby boybean that's coming. All SheBean can come up with is "Spud" and that's not good, so go on over to Monty's and leave your ideas! Thanks!

Now, I have to go back to work.

NOT a ManCat on Monday

Can you believe the upstairs neighbors thought I was a mancat?

They did!

I am so insulted.

I Live With an Herb Murderer

(Fiona, you should avert your eyes and not look any further)

You all know that Mom grows Herbs in a container garden in the back yard. This picture was taken a week or so ago.Mom's got several kinds of Basil, some Thyme, Mint, Sage, Oregano, Marjoram, Parsely, Chives, Rosemary, Tarragon and even some peppers and grape tomatoes. All summer long she has been picking Basil leaves and making that yukky Pesto she goes on and an about.

But last night, she went out and murdered some of those Herbs, and then hanged them. Here's proof:
And this:There's 'Nip hanging in the front hallway, too.

I'm telling you, she's just about lost her mind. You should have heard her squeeing when she opened a package that had a quilt from her Doll Quilt Swap 7 partner.

I'm gonna go nap under the bed.

Playing with Mom

Mom's been trying to take pictures of me, because I haven't been "posing" lately.

Can you tell I'm smarter than she is?

IBOL Wednesday

Remember about three weeks ago when I asked you all to help send bundles of fabric and yarn to Art in Iraq? Well, you responded. Art needed a warehouse to put the bundles. The bundle count is 2889*. Yes, almost three thousand. There are more in the pipeline, including 161 from Sew, Mama, Sew.

Two thousand eight hundred eighty-nine just a number to you? Check this out, and be sure to scroll down to see the video. (It's only 24 seconds). Or you can just click here. This just makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over. (Wait, I am -already- warm and furry...)

Mr IBOL now truly understands how powerful quilting mamas, the internet, and kittehs truly are.

Heh.

*The Wednesday night number is: 3436

Purr-ayers Needed!

Hey gang, I've got a big favor to ask. One of Mom's quilting friends, Christina, has a little boy, Cohen, who has contracted that terrible staph infection, MRSA. Cohen just had his first birthday, and he's a cute, cuddly little guy who lives in Australia with his Mum and Dad.

Would you please stop by and leave some good thoughts for Cohen's speedy recovery? If you could include him in your prayers too, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm purring hard for the little guy.

Thanks.

Stashbusting Gizzy Quilts

Hi! Mom's made some Stashbusting Gizzy Quilts and I've put pictures of them on the sidebar. The cost is $44 USD and this includes shipping anywhere in the US. International shipping is extra. If you want to buy one, you can click the Paypal button.

These are made from 100% top-quality cotton front and back, and are filled with nice warm fleece. They are machine washable and dryable.

Semifinal Saturday - NOT!

Mom is -seriously- bummed out. She took two week's stay-cation from her day hunting gig so she could watch the Tennis on TV. Which she has done, every single day. Except yesterday.

Yesterday it rained in the Big Apple, and all the matches were postponed. The Men's Final, with the expected showdown between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, has been postponed until Monday at 4. Mom gets home from day hunting at 5:30.

What do you think her chances are of getting out early so she can get home in time to watch the match on the picture box after she has been away for two weeks?

Slim to None.
You can see how much it's bothering me.

Formerly Feral Friday

Mom and I were looking back at my first months of blog posts. Back then I thought the tennis was sorta interesting.

Now, not so much.

Especially since when Mom is watching it, she totally forgets my Treat Time.

I mean like, seriously. Who does she think she is, anyway?

No Cats? No Way!

Somebody's trying to prevent Cats from being on the Internet!

Like THAT's ever going to happen!

NO WAY!

Wacky Wednesday

I hate when Mom does this:She took my cat hammock apart. She says she put the fleecy cover in the washing monster.
But it takes all my furs off.
So now I have to work very hard to put them back.

Space Travel and HAM

I like HAM. I do not like Space Travel. Space travel makes me feel like this:Space travel makes me feel dizzy. I do not like floating. I like to have my four feets on the ground. or my whole self. This is much better. I have enjoyed the HAMs of the Werld Tour (except for the space part) It's been great to visit with my gal pals, Missy and Sanjee, and everybody else.

See you tomorrow! ** smootchies**

I Love Ham!

Yeah, I know this isn't HAM! Or Beef or Turkey. I am having so much fun on the Werld Ham Tour with the Meezers and all my friends, that I forgot to blog yesterday. Oops!

Here's a little food porn for Fiona. Mom picked these herbs and peppers and grape tomatoes out of her garden this morning. Mom would want me to tell you there are two kinds of mint, Kentucky Colonel Mint and Pineapple Mint; Greek Oregano, Marjoram, Thyme, Tarragon and Sage. There's also a little bit of Basil. Mom has been making Pesto throughout the summer.

Left Out

Mom spent yesterday with Killian's Mom, Sara. Mom brought several quilts to show her, and they visited some quilt shops and went out to lunch. Killian sent me a pouch of Turkey Temptations.
No matter how strongly I hinted, I got left out. So I'm going on a road trip. I'm on the Hams of the Werld Tour!

Ta ta!

Tuxie Tuesday, with Sunshine

The Sunshine quilt Mom is making for Mr Karate came back from Bella's Mom, Chris yesterday, where it was quilted. (You can check Mom's quilting blog for more pictures.) Anyway, I am giving it a good QA inspection.

Mom will be finishing it up while she watches the Tennis today.

I'll be napping.
