The Flip Video Camcorder

I am so glad you liked my movie yesterday. Mom is practicing, but I am not interested in posing all the time for her.
Here, by popular request, are pictures of the new camcorder Mom won. It's about 4-1/4" tall, and about 2" wide. The screen is 3/4" high and 1-1/4" wide. The resolution is 640 x 480, and Mom's will hold one hour of video on the 1 GB drive. It's wicked easy to use. Mom says it is what it is - a very inexpensive camcorder - the software is a bit fussy, and there are limits to what you can do with it, but she says she loves it. She's not quite sure she would have bought one of these if she had to give up some green papers for it. It does have its uses, and it's very handy! She says she is going to post LOTS of movies of me!

Yesterday's video was 9 MB!! This means M0m has to find some software to "optimize" it for the web. Daisy gave us a good idea, and we will check it out later.

You can get it at Amazon. Mom says right now the price is $117.

Mom has a video of me MEOWING! We will post it on Monday.

I am going to nap, Mom is going to sew today, and we might make another movie. I think Monty is going to be my biggest fan!

What a neat little thing!
I do not know whether I would get Momma to buy me one though as regular digital cameras can take videos nowdays and are not much more expensive.. But that is nice and small.. hrrrmmmm :)
Happy sewing day :)

If you're concerned about the "end result" file size (as opposed to the size of the file you upload) you might consider using YouTube. I uploaded a 63MB Quicktime video of Kismet, which they optimized down to a 2.5MB flash video file - quite a reduction.

We use HP Photosmart premier to optimize our movies, and sometimes YouTube. We also have Movie Maker that Daisy uses, but have never actually edited a movie with it yet. Movies are lots of fun!

Oh geez...if mom gets one of those, then we'll never have any rest...it's bad enough with the flashy box...

That's pretty decent video!

Today we are bein' lazy on Sabi's Gizzy quilt (which is gittin' some nice compliments).

We have an older version of that same camera made by PureDigital. Ours holds only 30 minutes of video. What we like best about it is how simple it is to use.
